Walmart Promo Codes, Walmart+ & Ways to Save

Walmart points shoppers to everyday low prices, not store-wide codes, so the savings are in Walmart+ (half price for students), free shipping from $35, Walmart Cash on offers you clip and stores matching Walmart.com prices.

Does Walmart have promo codes?

Walmart's own promo-code page points to its everyday low prices and Walmart+ instead. The codes you'll see come from some Marketplace sellers, on select items: the item must be sold by that seller, and you can enter up to five different codes per order.[11]

Our verdict

Clip Get Walmart Cash offers before you buy and keep online orders at $35 or more for free shipping. If you order often, Walmart+ at $98 a year removes the minimum — students and Walmart+ Assist members pay $49 — and in a store, ask for the Walmart.com price when it's lower.

Ways to save at Walmart

Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.

  1. Start Walmart+ with the $1 trial, then pay yearly

Free shipping with no order minimumLow effortAnyone who orders from Walmart regularly

Walmart+ costs $98 a year or $12.95 a month plus tax, so the annual plan works out $57.40 cheaper than twelve monthly payments. Members get free shipping with no order minimum on items shipped by Walmart, free delivery from their store on orders of $35 or more, up to 10¢ off a gallon at participating fuel stations, and a choice of Paramount+ Essential or Peacock Premium. Walmart.com currently offers the first 30 days for $1; only one trial is allowed per customer, and it renews at full price unless you cancel.[1, 2, 3, 12]

    1. Check first whether a card or phone plan you already have comes with a Walmart+ offer — Walmart names American Express Platinum and Business Gold, Optum OnePass, and Verizon's Tracfone and Straight Talk.
    2. Start the trial at walmart.com/plus and choose monthly or annual.
    3. If you keep it, the annual plan is the cheaper way to pay.
  2. Students and benefit recipients: pay half for Walmart+

$49 a year or $6.47 a monthSome effortCollege students; SNAP, WIC, Medicaid and other recipients

Walmart+ Student and Walmart+ Assist cost $6.47 a month or $49 a year and include every Walmart+ benefit. Student is for people 18 or older enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a Title IV college in the US; Assist is for people on SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, SSI, TANF, TTANF, NSLP or LIHEAP. Eligibility is checked through SheerID and re-checked every year — if it fails, the plan renews at full price unless you cancel.[2, 3, 10]

    1. Sign up through walmart.com/plus/student or the Walmart+ Assist page.
    2. Complete the SheerID check; new members who pass get a free 30-day trial.
    3. Already a full-price member? Switching cancels the old plan with a refund for the unused part.
  3. Claim Walmart Cash offers before you buy

Credit that never expiresLow effortAnyone with a Walmart.com account

Eligible products show a Get Walmart Cash checkbox on Walmart.com and in the app. Claim the offer before you buy, and its value is added to your balance once the item is bought in store, picked up or delivered. Walmart Cash doesn't expire: spend it on later purchases, or cash it out at a store from a $25 balance. If you use a paper coupon on the same item, the coupon applies and the Walmart Cash offer doesn't.[9]

    1. Find offers on the Walmart Cash page, in search results or on product pages, and tap Get Walmart Cash.
    2. In a store, scan the QR code at the register with the Walmart app.
    3. Forgot to scan? Scan your receipt barcode in the app within 7 days.
  4. In a store, ask for the Walmart.com price

The lower online priceSome effortIn-store shoppers

Walmart's US stores match the price of the identical item advertised on Walmart.com, as long as it's in stock online — tell the associate at checkout. Rollbacks, clearance, Black Friday and other limited-time online deals don't count, nor do Marketplace sellers' prices or other Walmart stores, and it isn't offered in Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico. Walmart doesn't match competitors' prices, in stores or online.[7, 8]

  5. Bring paper manufacturer coupons to the store

The coupon's value off matching itemsSome effortIn-store shoppers who collect coupons

Walmart stores take paper manufacturer coupons, including print-at-home ones, as long as they scan and haven't expired: one per item, up to 4 identical coupons per household per day, and any number of different coupons in one transaction. Coupons shown on a phone, competitors' coupons and double or triple coupons aren't accepted, and a coupon worth more than the item gives no cash back.[7]

Walmart promo codes

Codes and offers kept by David Jones, who lists only codes the store makes public.

Walmart relies on everyday low prices rather than store-wide codes; the promo codes on walmart.com come from some Marketplace sellers, for select items, and work only when that seller's item is in your cart. We list a code only when Walmart.com shows it publicly.

No public code we could confirm right now

We would rather show nothing than a code that fails at checkout. The ways to save above work without one.

6 rules · walmart.com, United States

The rules that decide what you pay

What Walmart says about shipping, delivery from a store, returns, return exceptions, marketplace sellers and price match — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.

Shipping

Free on orders of $35 or more; a $6.99 fee below that.

Walmart+ members skip the minimum on items sold or shipped by Walmart. Pharmacy, photo, wireless and tire purchases don't count toward the $35 and don't ship free; Marketplace items count toward it but may carry their own shipping charges, and heavy or oversized freight has surcharges. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories and overseas costs extra, though members pay no location surcharge to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.[3, 4, 5]

Delivery from a store

Free for Walmart+ members on orders of $35 or more.

Without Walmart+, delivery from your local store carries a delivery fee of up to $9.95, according to Walmart's help pages. Members pay a $6.99 fee on orders under $35, and faster options such as Express delivery cost extra. Store pickup is free on orders over $35.[2, 4, 5]

Returns

90 days for most items, free in store, by mail or by pickup.

Start the return in the app or on Walmart.com, then bring it to a store or curbside, mail it free, or book a FedEx pickup; Walmart+ members can also have returns collected from home at select locations. With a receipt or order number, the refund goes to your original payment — up to 7 days for cards. Without one you need a government photo ID, and the refund comes as a Walmart gift card.[1, 6, 7, 13]

Return exceptions

Shorter windows for electronics, phones and appliances.

Consumer electronics, vacuums, heaters and air conditioners, e-bikes and most Marketplace items have 30 days; most wireless phones 14 days; major appliances 2 days after delivery. Firearms, prescription medications, alcohol, gift cards, trading cards and downloadable games are final sale. Most items bought Oct 1 – Dec 31 can be returned until Jan 31, except for items such as wireless phones, protection plans, major appliances and Dyson products.[6, 7]

Marketplace sellers

30 days for most items, under the seller's own policy.

Most items sold and shipped by Marketplace sellers can be returned within 30 days, and refunds follow the seller's policy — including possible restocking fees of up to 20%. Some, such as oversized, freight, collectible or luxury items, can't be returned to a Walmart store, and Walmart+ free shipping excludes most Marketplace items.[1, 6, 7]

Price match

Stores match Walmart.com; competitors aren't matched.

In a US store, Walmart matches the Walmart.com price of an identical in-stock item if you ask at checkout, but not Rollbacks, clearance or other limited-time online deals. Walmart.com itself doesn't price match: not competitors, not Marketplace sellers, and not its own price if it drops after you buy.[7, 8]

When to shop at Walmart

Sale events from Walmart's own pages, each under the months it runs.

  • June

    Walmart Deals (summer)

In 2026 it ran June 22–28 online and in stores; eligible paid Walmart+ members got the first 24 hours on online hot-deal drops.[14]

  • Oct–Jan

    Extended holiday returns

Most items bought Oct 1 – Dec 31 can be returned until Jan 31. Wireless phones, protection plans, major appliances and Dyson products are among the exceptions.[6, 7]

  • Nov–Dec

Stores closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas

Walmart says its stores will close on both holidays in 2026 (Nov 26 and Dec 25), so plan store trips around them.[15]

5 catches in the fine print

Watch out for

Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.

  1. An online price drop isn't refunded

Walmart.com doesn't adjust the price of an item you've already bought if it later gets cheaper, and it won't match another store's price either.[8]

  2. Marketplace items follow the seller's rules

Items sold by Marketplace sellers mostly have a 30-day return window, can carry restocking fees of up to 20% and their own shipping charges, and are mostly left out of Walmart+ free shipping. Check who the item is sold by before you add it to your cart.[1, 7]

  3. Trial members miss Early Access

Early access to Black Friday and other sale events is for paid Walmart+ members. For the June 2026 Walmart Deals event, $1 trial members and free-trial Student and Assist members weren't eligible.[1, 14, 16]

  4. No receipt means a gift card

Returns without a receipt need a government photo ID and are refunded to a Walmart gift card, and Walmart limits how many receipt-less returns one customer can make.[7]

  5. Returns take back Walmart Cash and coupon value

Return an item you earned Walmart Cash on and that Walmart Cash is deducted — your balance can even go negative. A paper manufacturer coupon's value isn't included in the refund either.[7, 9]

Walmart's own promo-code page points to its everyday low prices and Walmart+ instead. The codes you'll see come from some Marketplace sellers, on select items: the item must be sold by that seller, and you can enter up to five different codes per order.[11]

$12.95 a month or $98 a year, plus tax. Walmart+ Student and Walmart+ Assist cost half — $6.47 a month or $49 a year — for eligible college students and people on programs such as SNAP, WIC or Medicaid.[1, 2]

Walmart.com currently offers the first 30 days for $1, and newly approved Student and Assist members get a free 30-day trial. Only one trial is allowed per customer, and it renews at full price unless you cancel.[1, 2, 3, 10]

Spend $35 or more; orders under $35 have a $6.99 fee. Pharmacy, photo, wireless and tire purchases don't count toward the $35, and Marketplace items may have their own shipping charges.[4]

You have 90 days for most items, returned in store, curbside, free by mail or by FedEx pickup. Electronics and most Marketplace items have 30 days, most wireless phones 14 and major appliances 2, and some items are final sale.[6, 7]

No. Walmart doesn't match competitors' prices. Its US stores will match the Walmart.com price of an identical in-stock item if you ask at checkout, except Rollbacks, clearance and other limited-time deals.[7, 8]

In stores, yes — paper manufacturer coupons, including print-at-home ones that scan. Walmart doesn't accept coupons on a phone screen, competitors' coupons, or double or triple coupons, and allows up to 4 identical coupons per household per day.[7]

It's promotional credit from manufacturer offers you claim on Walmart.com or in the app, and for Walmart+ members from bookings made through Walmart+ Travel. It never expires and can be spent in stores and online, or cashed out at a store once you have $25.[2, 9]

You can cancel anytime from your Walmart+ account page or through customer care. Walmart's FAQ says the fee isn't refundable, but you keep the benefits until the end of the term you paid for. Cancel during a trial and Walmart may end your benefits immediately, with no refund.[2, 3]
