Vrbo Coupon Codes: What Saves Instead
Vrbo has no coupon codes: its discounts are built into the nightly price. The money is in stay length (weekly and monthly rates), timing (last-minute and new-listing deals), cancelling inside the full-refund window and OneKeyCash once you reach Silver.
Does Vrbo have promo codes or coupon codes?
No. Vrbo's own discounts page says it doesn't offer traditional coupon codes; its savings are already built into the prices in search results. To find them, use the weekly, monthly, last-minute and new-listing discount filters.[1, 2]

- Top way to save: Filter for weekly or monthly discounts on longer stays
Our verdict
Search with the Weekly discount or Monthly discount filter whenever you stay 7 or 28+ nights — Vrbo cites average savings of $213 and $1,568 on the homes that offer them — and pick a free-cancellation stay if plans could change, because the service fee comes back only with a 100% refund. Don't plan a first trip around OneKeyCash: on Vrbo it starts at Silver, after 5 eligible nights, at 1%.

Ways to save at Vrbo
Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.
Filter for weekly or monthly discounts on longer stays
Hosts can set a percentage off for weekly (7+ nights) and monthly (28+ nights) stays, and Vrbo includes it in the price once you enter dates that long. Its deals page puts the average saving at $213 on weekly stays and $1,568 on monthly ones — averages across select homes, not what every listing gives. A length-of-stay discount can stack with one host promotion, which is then taken off the already-reduced rate.[1, 2, 3, 11]
- Search your destination with dates of 7 or more nights (28 or more for monthly).
- Turn on the Weekly discount or Monthly discount filter.
- Check the total at checkout, where taxes are added to the fee-inclusive price.
Book inside 30 days, or try a newly listed home
For trips within the next 30 days, add your dates and apply the Last minute booking filter to see homes with a last-minute discount. Newly listed rentals can carry a new-listing discount for a limited time: Vrbo's discounts page says it goes to the first 3 guests to stay, and hosts can only run it during a listing's first 90 days. A last-minute or early-booking promotion covers only the nights inside its booking window, so a longer stay may be discounted on just some of its nights.[1, 2, 3]
- Enter your destination and dates, then apply the Last minute booking filter.
- To see discounted newly listed homes, apply the new listing discount filter.
- Look for the discount in the listing's price before you book.
Sign in, and search on your phone, for member and mobile deals
Hosts can create member-only deals for One Key members — Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum alike — and mobile deals for travelers who book on a mobile device. Unlike early-booking and last-minute promotions, both apply to every night of the stay. Joining One Key is free, but Vrbo applies only one promotion at a time: whichever gives the deepest discount.[3, 4]
- Create a free account and sign in before you search.
- Look up the same dates on your phone as well as on a computer.
- Book where the listing shows the lower price.
Reach Silver, then earn OneKeyCash on later stays
On Vrbo, OneKeyCash starts only at Silver, which takes 5 trip elements in a calendar year; each completed rental night worth $25 or more (before taxes and fees, after coupons and OneKeyCash) counts as one, so a single 5-night stay gets you there. On bookings made after that, Silver members earn 1% and Gold and Platinum members 2%, excluding taxes and fees. $1 of OneKeyCash takes $1 off a later eligible rental, can also be spent on Expedia and Hotels.com, and stays in your account as long as you book or redeem at least once every 18 months.[4, 5, 6]
- Sign in before every booking — stays booked while signed out earn nothing.
- Track your trip elements on the Rewards Activity page.
- On an eligible rental, select apply OneKeyCash at checkout.
Filter for free cancellation if your plans could change
Vrbo's free cancellation search filter shows stays you can cancel for a 100% refund. Staying inside that full-refund window matters beyond the rent: Vrbo returns its service fee only when you qualify for a 100% refund, so a 50% refund leaves the fee with Vrbo. Refund windows are counted back from check-in, and the cut-off is 11:59 p.m. in the property's time zone.[1, 7, 10, 12]

Vrbo coupon codes
Codes and offers kept by David Jones, who would list a code here only if the store published one.
Vrbo says it doesn't offer traditional coupon codes, so we don't list any. Its discounts — weekly, monthly, last-minute and new-listing — show up in the price when you search with the discount filters.

The rules that decide what you pay
What Vrbo says about cancellation, refunds, service fee, VrboCare, payment plans and extenuating circumstances — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.
Cancellation
The host picks the policy; the deadline is 11:59 p.m. property time.
Vrbo's standard policies run from Relaxed (full refund 14+ days before check-in, 50% from 7 to 14 days) through Moderate (full refund 30+ days out, 50% from 14 to 30) and Firm (60+ days, then 50% from 30 to 60) to Strict (full refund only 60+ days out) and No refund; hosts can also choose shorter Day-before or Lenient windows, or custom terms. A refund can be worked out as a percentage of what you've paid so far or of the total amount payable, so read the listing's policy before you book.[7, 8]
Refunds
Back to your original payment method, up to 5 days to show.
Cancel from My Trips with Change or Cancel, then Cancel Booking; some cancellations go to the host to process, so follow up if nothing happens within 24 hours. The money goes back to the card or account you paid with and can take up to 5 days to appear — Vrbo's terms say timing depends on the payment method. Damage protection or travel insurance bought for the trip has to be refunded by Generali, which you contact directly.[9, 12]
Service fee
Already in the price you see; refunded only with a 100% refund.
Vrbo charges a service fee worked out as a percentage of the reservation total, excluding taxes and refundable fees; the percentage varies, and hosts can't discount or waive it. Search results and listings show prices with all mandatory fees and the service fee included, while taxes are added at checkout and optional extras aren't part of the figure.[10, 11, 12]
VrboCare
Free protection for rentals paid through Vrbo checkout — not a money-back guarantee.
It covers four situations: payment fraud, a host who cancels or refuses entry, a home with serious defects or material misrepresentation, and a host who wrongly keeps a deposit or a refund you're owed. Vrbo may help find a comparable stay, cover a higher nightly rate or refund unused nights, at its discretion — but gives no financial help for cancellations more than 90 days before arrival. Contact Vrbo within 24 hours of check-in or of the problem starting.[13, 14, 15]
Payment plans
Three ways to spread the cost, each with a condition.
With Reserve now, pay later, Vrbo charges your card automatically on a set date before the free-cancellation period ends, after a $1 card check that it refunds. Hosts can split a booking into 2 or 3 payments, but the first one includes the taxes and fees for the whole stay. Affirm, offered on certain US properties, spreads the cost over 3, 6, 12 or 18 months at 0% to 36% APR depending on your credit profile.[16, 17, 18]
Extenuating circumstances
A large-scale disruption can override the host's policy.
When a large-scale travel disruption stops guests from starting or finishing a stay, Vrbo may apply its Extenuating Circumstances Policy, which can allow a refund whatever the listing's cancellation policy says. VrboCare, by contrast, doesn't cover cancellations caused by events beyond the host's control, such as natural disasters, or by your own illness or flight delays.[15, 19]
5 catches in the fine print
Watch out for
Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.
Blue members earn no OneKeyCash on Vrbo
Vrbo's One Key page says members start earning OneKeyCash from sign-up on Expedia and Hotels.com, but on Vrbo only after reaching Silver with 5 trip elements. Your first stays build tier progress, not cash.[4, 5]
OneKeyCash won't pay for every part of a rental
It works only on participating rentals — the property page shows whether yours is one — and on an installment booking it can cover just the first payment. It can't pay a refundable damage deposit, a Reserve now, pay later booking or a buy-now-pay-later checkout, and on an eligible booking the help center says your whole balance is applied.[5, 6, 16]
A partial refund keeps the service fee
Vrbo returns its service fee only when a cancellation qualifies for a 100% refund under the host's policy. Cancel after the full-refund window closes and you lose the fee on top of whatever share of the rent the policy keeps.[10, 12]
Paying a host directly loses VrboCare
VrboCare doesn't cover payments made entirely outside Vrbo checkout or an approved partner checkout, including cash, checks and bank transfers straight to a host. If a host asks you to pay that way, you give up the protection.[14]
A missed payment can cancel the stay
On a Reserve now, pay later booking, Vrbo cancels the reservation if the scheduled charge isn't completed in time, and its terms let a host cancel when full payment isn't received when due. Keep the card on file valid until the last payment has gone through.[12, 16]
