Booking.com Promo Codes & Real Ways to Save

Booking.com codes are personal rewards, not public coupons. The savings anyone can use are Genius, the seasonal deals, price matching and booking flexibly.

Does Booking.com have promo codes?

Booking.com's codes are personal: reward partners send them as a coupon code or unique link, and you enter the code on the Final Details page before paying. Discount coupons from magazines or stores can't be used. We don't list Booking.com codes — the savings in this guide work without one.[4, 6]

Our verdict

Sign in before you search — Genius takes 10% or more off select stays from your very first booking — then look for Late Escape Deals (15% or more, bookable until Jan 7, 2027), and if the same room turns up cheaper elsewhere after you book, claim the difference through We Price Match.

Ways to save at Booking.com

Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.

  1. Sign in before you search so Genius prices show

10–20% off select staysLow effortEveryone — the account is free

Genius is Booking.com's free loyalty program. A free account unlocks Level 1: 10% off select stays and rental cars, taken off the price before taxes and fees. Five bookings in two years bring Level 2 (10–15% off, plus free breakfasts and room upgrades at some stays); fifteen bring Level 3 (10–20% off and priority support). Levels are never taken away once you reach them, and discounts apply automatically — no code needed.[1]

    1. Create a free account with your email address.
    2. Sign in on every device before you search — your discounts and level only show when you're signed in.
    3. Look for the blue Genius label on properties and rental cars.
  2. Book Late Escape Deals for autumn and holiday trips

15% or more offLow effortTrips between October and early January

Late Escape Deals take at least 15% off at participating properties, calculated on the price before taxes and fees. This year's round can be booked from September 3, 2026 to January 7, 2027, for stays between October 1, 2026 and January 7, 2027. Booking.com says Genius discounts can, in many cases, be combined with deals like this one — Booking.com shows which discounts apply before you book.[1, 3]

  3. Claim We Price Match if you find it cheaper after booking

The price difference backSome effortAnyone who compares sites

If the same stay appears cheaper on another website after you've booked, Booking.com refunds the difference — either by changing your reservation price or after your stay. The other offer has to match exactly: same property and room type, same dates, same cancellation policy, same number of guests and same meal plan, priced in the property's local currency, and still live when Booking.com checks.[2]

    1. Look for “Found this room cheaper elsewhere?” on your confirmation page.
    2. Save the link to the cheaper offer and take screenshots showing every condition.
    3. Contact Customer Service with both before the offer disappears.
  4. Book with free cancellation, then keep an eye on the price

A lower price if rates fallSome effortTrips booked weeks or months ahead

With a free-cancellation booking you pay no cancellation fee as long as you cancel before the property's deadline, and any deposit taken is returned. That makes it possible to lock in a room now and rebook if the price later drops on Booking.com itself — something We Price Match doesn't cover, because it compares other websites. Non-refundable bookings don't allow this: their dates can't be changed and cancelling can cost money.[6]

  5. Spend travel credits and partner rewards on your next stay

Credit off the bookingLow effortAnyone with a reward from a partner

Booking.com rewards come from its reward partners as a coupon code or a unique link. Codes for travel credit are redeemed on Booking.com's travel coupons page and can take up to 10 minutes to appear in your Wallet. Credits can be spent on stays that show the “Pay with Wallet” badge, and on select flights, car rentals, attractions, taxis and travel insurance paid in advance. Only one reward works per booking, but it can be combined with Genius.[4, 5]

Booking.com promo codes

Codes and offers kept by David Jones, who keeps this guide's deals current.

Booking.com codes are personal rewards from its partners, entered on the Final Details page before you pay. Coupons from magazines or stores don't work, and only one reward fits each booking — though it stacks with Genius.

We don't list Booking.com codes

Booking.com's codes are personal, and its rules don't allow sites like ours to publish them — so this guide sticks to the savings above, which work without one.

5 rules · booking.com, Worldwide

The rules that decide what you pay

What Booking.com says about booking fees, cancellation, payment, reward codes and price match — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.

Booking fees

Booking.com doesn't charge a booking fee.

Any taxes or extra charges come from the property and local tax rules. Whether taxes are already included depends on the property, the room and the country, so check the price details before you book — they also say whether breakfast or service charges are included. Prices are for the whole stay in the room, not per person, unless the listing says otherwise.[6]

Cancellation

Free-cancellation bookings: no fee before the property's deadline.

After that deadline, or on a non-refundable booking, you may have to pay a cancellation fee, which is set by the property. Non-refundable bookings can't have their dates changed. Every booking's exact policy is shown before you book and in your confirmation.[6]

Payment

When you pay is set by each property.

Some properties take a prepayment, others charge at the stay. Many place a temporary hold (pre-authorization) on your card to check it, which is released later depending on the property and your card provider. If a deposit was taken on a booking that's still free to cancel, it's returned when you cancel.[6]

Reward codes

Only Booking.com's own reward codes work — one per booking.

Discount coupons issued by magazines, stores or other organizations can't be used on Booking.com. Codes from its reward partners are entered on the Final Details page with your payment details, can't be added to a booking you've already made, and are lost if you cancel the booking they were used on.[4, 6]

Price match

Only for an identical offer on another website.

Claims aren't accepted for offers on sites that hide the property until after booking, prices that rely on a loyalty program, login or coupon, “Partner offers” on Booking.com, cancelled bookings, or single-unit properties that can't be listed elsewhere.[2]

    Late Escape Deals

15% or more off at participating properties. In 2026 they can be booked from September 3 to January 7, 2027, for stays between October 1 and January 7, 2027.[3]

4 catches in the fine print

Watch out for

Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.

  1. Know what the crossed-out price means

Booking.com's crossed-out rate is the third-highest price for the same room and conditions in a 30-day window around your check-in date. It shows you're paying less than on nearby dates — not what other websites charge.[6]

  2. Non-refundable means no date changes

A non-refundable rate's dates can't be changed, and cancelling it can cost money. If your plans might move, compare it with the free-cancellation rate before you book.[6]

  3. Cancelling loses the reward you used

If you cancel a booking made with a reward code or link, you don't get that reward back and can't reuse the code. Use rewards on bookings you're sure about.[4]

  4. A higher Genius level isn't always a bigger discount

Discounts vary by property, and some give every Genius level the same percentage. Compare the final price rather than assuming Level 3 always pays less.[1]
