Squarespace Promo Codes & Student Discount

Every Squarespace discount comes off the first payment: a public 10% code on its own coupons page, half off a first annual plan for students, and yearly billing that costs less a month and adds a free domain year. Renewals bill at full price.

Does Squarespace have promo codes?

Yes. Squarespace says it shares its promotions on its own website and by email, and its coupons page lists GIMME10 for 10% off an annual website plan on your first purchase. Codes go in the Promo code field on the Review order page, cover the first payment only and can't be combined.[1, 3, 11]

Our verdict

Build on the free 14-day trial (no card needed), then pay annually: Basic drops from $25 to $19 a month and the first year of a custom domain is free. At checkout, enter the 10% code from Squarespace's coupons page, or the 50% student code from Student Beans if you qualify — codes don't stack, and every discount ends at the first renewal.

Ways to save at Squarespace

Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.

  1. Pay annually and claim the free domain

$19 instead of $25 a month on Basic, plus a free domain yearLow effortAnyone keeping a site for a year or more

On Squarespace's US pricing page, Basic costs $19 a month billed yearly ($228) or $25 month to month; Core is $29 or $39, Plus $49 or $65, and Advanced $99 or $139. Squarespace advertises savings of up to 36% for paying annually — on those prices the gap works out to $72 a year on Basic and $480 on Advanced. Annual plans also include one free custom domain for the first year, registered within a year of starting the plan; monthly plans don't get one.[1, 4, 14]

    1. Build your site on the free trial, then click Subscribe when you're ready.
    2. Pick a plan and choose the Annual billing cycle.
    3. Register your free domain from that site within its first year on the plan.
  2. Enter a public code on your first payment

10% off an annual plan with GIMME10Low effortNew subscribers

Squarespace's own coupons page lists GIMME10 for 10% off an annual website plan, valid on your first purchase only, and its help guide to building a nonprofit site gives NONPROFIT for 10% off the first payment. It also runs limited-time codes in a banner on its pricing page, each with its own expiry date. Only one code works per order, and none combines with an automatic discount such as the Circle discount or the free-domain offer — Squarespace applies whichever saves you more.[1, 3, 11, 20]

    1. Choose your plan and billing cycle, enter your payment details and click Save and continue.
    2. On the Review order page, type the code in the Promo code field and click Apply.
    3. Check the new total before you confirm the purchase.
  3. Students: take half off the first year

50% off a first annual planSome effortFull-time students at eligible colleges and universities

Once Student Beans confirms you're a student, it gives you a single-use code for 50% off the first annual plan bought on a site — Basic, Core, Plus and Advanced all qualify, but monthly plans, domains, Acuity Scheduling, Mobile Start plans and reactivated sites don't. Alumni, faculty, staff and high-school students can't use it; you can get one code every 12 months, and each expires at the end of the calendar year it was issued. Paid for a new site in the last seven days without the code? Squarespace's student guide says you can ask for the discount retroactively.[12, 13]

    1. Start a trial site on squarespace.com.
    2. Create a free Student Beans account, confirm your student status and get the Squarespace code.
    3. Click Subscribe on the trial site, pick an annual plan and enter the code in the Promo code field.
  4. Join Circle before you create the site

10% off the first annual payment and a 3-month trialSome effortDesigners, developers and anyone building sites for others

Squarespace Circle is a free partner program for creative professionals that any Squarespace customer can join, and new partners start at Silver, which needs 0 points. Silver partners get 10% off the first payment of annual subscriptions, applied automatically at checkout, and every new site they create after joining starts with a 3-month trial instead of 14 days. The discount skips renewals and plan changes and doesn't combine with other offers; when you qualify for both it and a code, Squarespace uses whichever saves more.[11, 18, 19, 24]

    1. Go to squarespace.com/circle and click Join Circle Today.
    2. Log in with your Squarespace account, fill in your profile and accept the terms of participation.
    3. Create the new site afterwards — trials started before you joined keep the 14-day limit.
  5. Sellers: let your sales decide between Basic and Core

No 2% transaction fee, plus a free Google Workspace yearSome effortAnyone selling products, services or digital content

Basic adds a 2% commerce transaction fee on sales and a 7% fee on digital products, while Core has no commerce transaction fee and a 5% digital fee; both pay the same 2.9% + $0.30 Squarespace Payments rate on domestic cards. Billed yearly, Core costs $10 a month more than Basic, so once online sales pass about $500 a month the 2% fee costs more than the upgrade (about $700 on monthly billing, where the gap is $14). Core and higher plans also include a free first year of Google Workspace Starter for one email user, if you sign up within the plan's first year.[1, 4, 21]

The rules that decide what you pay

What Squarespace says about refunds, cancellation, domains, free trial, discounts and renewals and price changes — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.

Refunds

Annual plans: full refund within 14 days. Monthly plans: none.

Squarespace's website refund policy gives a full refund on an annual plan canceled within 14 days of purchase, minus the cost of any free domain you registered (its free-domain guide calls this a prorated refund). Monthly plans, renewal payments and annual plans past 14 days aren't refunded. Take the refund in the cancellation flow or through the refund request form; Squarespace aims to answer requests in two business days, and the money can take 3 to 10 business days to show on your card.[5, 7, 8, 14]

Cancellation

Cancel in the Billing panel; the site stays up until the paid period ends.

Open the Billing panel, click the website subscription and choose Cancel subscription; inside the refund window you can pick Get Refund Immediately, which takes the site offline at once, or Retain Access until the cycle ends. Domains, Google Workspace, Email Campaigns and Acuity Scheduling are separate subscriptions that keep billing until you cancel each one. A site can't be put on hold — Squarespace suggests a cheaper plan while it's inactive.[8, 22]

Domains

Five days for a refund on a new domain; renewals are never refunded.

A newly registered domain can be canceled for a full refund within five days, though most country-code domains carry no guarantee, and a transferred-in domain can't be refunded once the transfer completes. Auto-renewals aren't refundable, and Squarespace charges them 15 days before the domain's official renewal date. Buy a domain during your trial and then upgrade to an annual plan, and a balance adjustment for it appears at checkout — a credit toward future invoices, not cash.[6, 14, 15]

Free trial

14 days, no card, and the site stays private.

The trial opens nearly every feature, but the site can't take payments, send form-submission emails or be indexed by search engines until you subscribe. When it expires, Squarespace emails a link to extend it once by seven days; after that the content is marked for deletion, though for a time you can still upgrade. Choose a plan that includes the features you set up during the trial, or they stop working once you pay.[9, 10]

Discounts

First payment only, one at a time.

Offer codes, the student code and the Circle discount all come off the first payment, and the next renewal is charged at full price. Codes can't be used on renewals or combined with each other, though you can apply one if you change plan or billing cycle during the subscription's first billing period. If the Promo code field doesn't appear at checkout, another discount may already have been applied automatically.[4, 11]

Renewals and price changes

Plans renew automatically; only annual ones get a reminder.

Annual subscriptions get an email 15 days before they renew, while monthly ones renew without any reminder. When Squarespace raises a plan price, you pay the new price from your next renewal date, and its Terms of Service let you reject a fee change by canceling before your next payment. Switching from monthly to annual billing takes effect at once, with a prorated refund for the unused part of the month.[16, 17, 23]

5 catches in the fine print

Watch out for

Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.

  1. The second year costs full price

Codes, the student and Circle discounts and the free domain cover only the first payment or the first year. Budget for the renewal at the standard price — $228 a year for Basic billed annually on the October 2026 pricing page.[1, 4, 12, 14, 18]

  2. Canceling the site doesn't cancel the domain

Domains, Google Workspace, Acuity Scheduling and Email Campaigns stay active and keep billing after you cancel a website. Cancel each one separately, or switch off auto-renew on the domain.[8, 16]

  3. Domain renewals are charged 15 days early

Squarespace takes the renewal payment 15 days before the domain's official renewal date, and auto-renewals can't be refunded. Its domain refund policy says free domains renew at $20 a year, but its renewal guide says they renew at the listed price and that .com, .net, .org and .xyz renewal prices are going up — check the price shown next to Renews on in your domains dashboard.[6, 15, 16]

  4. Monthly plans renew without a reminder

Only annual subscriptions get a reminder email before they renew, and monthly payments are never refunded. If you're finished with the site, cancel before the renewal date.[5, 16]

  5. A refund in the first 14 days costs you the free domain

Cancel an annual plan inside the refund window and you lose the free-domain offer: the domain's registration fee comes off your refund, and the domain itself stays registered as a separate subscription.[5, 8, 14]

Squarespace savings FAQ

Yes. Squarespace says it shares its promotions on its own website and by email, and its coupons page lists GIMME10 for 10% off an annual website plan on your first purchase. Codes go in the Promo code field on the Review order page, cover the first payment only and can't be combined.[1, 3, 11]

Yes: 50% off the first annual website plan for full-time students at eligible colleges and universities, through Student Beans. The single-use code expires at the end of the calendar year and doesn't work on monthly plans or domains.[12, 13]

Yes, for 14 days, and you don't need a credit card to start. If you need longer, the email Squarespace sends when the trial expires lets you extend it once by seven days, and Circle partners get longer trials on new sites.[9, 10, 18]

On the US pricing page in October 2026, Basic was $25 a month or $19 a month billed annually, Core $39 or $29, Plus $65 or $49, and Advanced $139 or $99. Sales tax is added at checkout where it applies.[1, 4]

Annual website plans can be refunded in full within 14 days of purchase, minus the cost of a free domain you claimed. Monthly plans and renewals aren't refunded, and a new domain can be refunded only within five days of registration.[5, 6]

In the site's Billing panel, click the subscription, choose Cancel subscription and follow the prompts. The site stays online until the end of the period you've paid for unless you take a refund inside the refund window, and domains or email subscriptions have to be canceled separately.[8]

Annual plans include one free custom domain for the first year, on extensions priced like .com; monthly and Mobile Start plans don't. After that year the domain renews at the standard rate unless you turn off auto-renew.[14, 15]

Squarespace's help guide to building a nonprofit site says to enter NONPROFIT at checkout for 10% off your first payment. Like any code, it can't be combined with another code or with an automatic discount.[11, 20]

No — Squarespace has no way to put a site or account on hold. It suggests a cheaper plan while the site is inactive, or a site-wide password; canceling instead keeps your content so you can reactivate later.[8, 22]
