It works for new customers and for former customers whose account was deactivated more than a day before, and it can be used once. HelloFresh notes that discounts vary for some plans and sizes; the offer expires 380 days after purchase, doesn't cover premium meals or upgrades, and can't be combined with other promotions.^[3]

The 10 free meals are the discount on the first box of a 4-person, 5-recipe plan — a bigger plan gets more, a smaller one less — and the offer expires 21 days after purchase.    UNiDAYS members who confirm their student status get 15% off every HelloFresh box for 12 months; one activation covers 52 orders, after which you activate it again. It isn't offered in Hawaii or Alaska, can't be combined with other promotions and doesn't apply to gift or trial boxes. Redeeming it starts an auto-renewing subscription that you can pause or cancel up to 5 days before the next delivery.^{[4, 5]}

4. Skip weeks instead of cancelling

   A skipped week isn't charged, and multi-week discounts and credits stay on your account for the weeks you do order, until they expire. Cancelling works differently: referral bonuses, promotional offers and Customer Care credits are removed, and the free item from the Free for Life offer isn't brought back if you return. Skip from My Menu by 11:59 PM PT five days before delivery.^{[1, 5]}

   HelloFresh Rewards is free and opt-in: you earn 10 points for every $1 spent on boxes after discounts, plus bonus points for challenges such as rating recipes or referring friends. The Reward Store trades points for $10 off add-ons or premium surcharges and up to $30 off a future box or free shipping credits. Points expire if you cancel or after 12 months of inactivity, and the program is being released in stages, so you may have to wait for an email inviting you to join.^[5]

6. Send HelloFriends referrals

   Once you're logged in, the HelloFriends page shows the offer you can share, and only first-time customers can redeem it. When a friend does, HelloFresh emails you a credit to activate, and you're credited for up to 10 successful referrals. Share it directly or on your own social profiles: the terms let HelloFresh withdraw referral credits if your code is posted on a third-party website.^{[5, 6]}

1. Cancelling wipes your credits

   Referral bonuses, promotional offers and Customer Care credits are removed when you cancel, and the cancellation screen shows how much HelloFresh Cash you'd lose. Skipping weeks keeps them.^[5]

2. The free item doesn't survive a cancellation

   The Free for Life item in the new-customer offer lasts only while your subscription is active, and it isn't reinstated if you reactivate later.^[1]

3. The cutoff is five days out, on Pacific time

   Skips, changes and cancellations lock at 11:59 PM PT five days before delivery. Miss it and that week's box is charged and shipped.^{[5, 6]}

4. Offers leave out premiums, add-ons and later shipping

   The new-customer offer doesn't apply to premium meals, upgrades, add-ons, taxes or shipping fees. Premium picks and HelloCustom swaps carry their own surcharge, shown on the recipe before you choose it.^{[1, 5]}

5. Pick one promotion — they don't combine

   The new-customer, hero and student offers each exclude other promotions, and the new-customer and hero offers can't be used with gift cards. Compare them before you sign up.^{[1, 3, 4]}
