Priceline Promo Codes & VIP Savings

On Priceline the bigger hotel discounts come from VIP tiers, earned with completed trips on a free account, and from Express Deals, where the hotel stays unnamed until you've booked. Add the homepage code and a refund if Priceline's own price drops.

Does Priceline have promo codes?

Yes. Priceline shows its public codes on its homepage — on October 16, 2026, TAKETHEPTO for $40 off Hotel Express Deals of three or more nights with a $350 minimum spend, booked by October 19. It also offers email-only coupons and app coupons through its referral program, and the codes it describes require you to be signed in and to pay in USD.[4, 5, 7]

Our verdict

Sign in before you search: the free Member level already shows up to 10% off hotels and rental cars, and two completed trips unlock Blue's up to 50% at over 15,000 hotels. Hotel Express Deals advertise up to 60% off in exchange for booking blind, and they can't be cancelled or refunded. If Priceline's own price drops after you book, claim the Best Price Guarantee within 24 hours — or by midnight before travel on an Express Deal, which refunds 200% of the difference.

Ways to save at Priceline

Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.

  1. Sign in to a free Priceline account before you search

Up to 10% now, up to 50% from BlueLow effortEveryone — every account is a VIP Member

A Priceline account puts you in the VIP program at the Member level, which shows discounts of up to 10% on hotels and rental cars. Two completed trips lift you to Blue — up to 50% off at more than 15,000 hotels and up to 15% on cars. Gold, at five trips or straight away with the Priceline VIP Rewards Visa, widens that to over 30,000 hotels and up to 20% on cars, and Platinum, at 20 trips, to over 45,000 hotels. Discounted rates carry the VIP logo in search results, and there's no minimum spend: only the number of completed trips counts.[1]

    1. Create a free Priceline account.
    2. Sign in before you search and look for the VIP logo on results.
    3. Book every trip with the same email — trips under different addresses can't be merged.
  2. Book an Express Deal when the brand doesn't matter

Up to 60% off hotels, booked blindSome effortTravelers with fixed dates and flexible on brand

With an Express Deal you choose from what Priceline does reveal — star rating, review score and amenities for a hotel, vehicle class and review score for a car, travel times for a flight — and the supplier's name appears only after you book. Priceline advertises hotel Express Deals at up to 60% off, measured against its lowest retail rate for the same itinerary; that is the top of the range, not a typical saving. The trade-off is firm: Express Deals can't be cancelled, changed, transferred or refunded unless checkout and your itinerary say otherwise.[3, 6]

  3. Use the code Priceline shows on its homepage

$40 off 3+ night Hotel Express DealsLow effortSigned-in members paying in USD

Priceline's homepage shows its current offers under Deals this week. On October 16, 2026 that included TAKETHEPTO: $40 off Hotel Express Deals of three nights or more with a $350 minimum spend, valid on bookings made by 9am ET on October 19, 2026. The $40 doesn't apply to taxes and fees, you have to be signed in, and the booking has to be paid in US dollars.[4, 5]

  4. Claim the Best Price Guarantee if Priceline's price drops

The difference back; 200% on Express DealsSome effortMembers who keep an eye on prices after booking

This isn't a match against other websites: it pays when Priceline itself shows a lower public, prepaid price for the identical booking. On a regular hotel, car or flight, claim within 24 hours of booking and the difference goes back to your original payment method; on an Express Deal, claim up to midnight before you travel — not on same-day bookings — and Priceline refunds 200% of the difference, capped at what the reservation cost. Packages are excluded, as are bookings supplied by Agoda or Booking.com and tickets on 11 airlines, among them Spirit, Frontier and British Airways.[2]

    1. After booking, search Priceline again for the same dates, room or car class.
    2. Screenshot the lower price with every matching detail, including the cancellation policy.
    3. Send it through the online claim form (up to 5 files, 3MB each); Priceline replies within 7 days.
  5. Bundle the trip, or add to one you've booked

Up to $625 on hotel + flight; Add-On DealsLow effortAnyone booking more than one part of a trip

Priceline's packages page advertises savings of up to $625 when a hotel and flight are booked together, compared with the same itinerary booked separately on Priceline; it adds that savings vary. Already booked? The VIP table lists Add-On Deals of up to 50% on hotels and 20% on rental cars added to an existing trip. Every reservation inside a package also counts separately toward your VIP tier, so bundling moves you up faster.[1, 8]

  6. Pool trips in a VIP Family account

A higher tier, shared with up to 5 peopleLow effortFamilies and friends who travel separately

A VIP Family account adds up everyone's completed trips, and each member gets the tier the combined total earns — with it the larger hotel discounts and a bigger Express Deal coupon after every trip: 5% at Member and Blue, 8% at Gold and 10% at Platinum. You can add up to five friends or family members; Priceline marks the feature as limited-time. Leave the family and you drop back to the tier your own trips have earned.[1]

6 rules · priceline.com, United States

The rules that decide what you pay

What Priceline says about Express Deals and Pricebreakers, hotel cancellation, flight refunds, Cancellation Coverage, changes and Pay Later — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.

Express Deals and Pricebreakers

Final once booked — no cancellations, changes or refunds.

Express Deals hide the supplier until you've paid; Pricebreakers show three named hotels and tell you which one is yours only after booking. Both are non-cancellable, non-refundable, non-changeable and non-transferable unless checkout and your itinerary say otherwise, and your payment method is charged whether or not you use the booking — Priceline gives no credit for unused ones. It may waive a restriction as an exception, at its discretion and possibly for a fee.[3]

Hotel cancellation

Set by each rate — read Important Information before paying.

Priceline says most hotels and rental cars come with free cancellation, but every hotel rate has its own terms, shown in the Important Information section while you book, and some can't be cancelled or refunded at all. Some flexible rates come from a third-party provider that may let you cancel an otherwise non-refundable stay for a fee — for example up to 24 hours before check-in for a partial refund — and that provider, not Priceline, pays you back, typically within 14 days. If you can't arrive on the first night, tell the hotel: an unannounced no-show can cancel the booking without a refund.[3, 5]

Flight refunds

Airline fare rules apply; US rules require refunds for cancelled flights.

Your ticket follows the airline's own conditions, and two one-way tickets are two separate bookings, so cancelling one leaves the other untouched. If the airline cancels and you decline the alternative, or makes a significant schedule change — 3+ hours on a domestic flight, 6+ on an international one — US DOT rules entitle you to a refund, due within 7 business days on a credit card and 20 days for other payment methods.[3, 9]

Cancellation Coverage

An optional flight add-on, bought only at booking.

Where Priceline offers it, Cancellation Coverage lets you cancel a flight for any reason on the Priceline website — not in the app or by phone — after the airline's void window and before check-in, at least 8 hours before your first departure, for a full or partial refund depending on the version you bought. It has to cover every passenger and segment, its own price is non-refundable, and hotels or other extras aren't reimbursed.[10]

Changes

Only if the supplier allows it — and at today's price.

No booking can be changed or cancelled by default: it depends on the supplier's terms, which may add a fee. When a change is allowed, the new price is the rate at the moment you change it, which can be higher than what you first paid. Packages follow the change and cancellation rules of each flight, hotel and car inside them.[3]

Pay Later

Charged on the due date shown at checkout.

On hotel rates with Pay Later, Priceline charges the amount and currency fixed when you booked on the stated date, so exchange rates can't change it. If that charge fails, the booking is cancelled automatically; you can cancel it yourself before the deadline in its booking conditions.[3]

5 catches in the fine print

Watch out for

Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.

  1. The guarantee ignores other websites

Finding the same room cheaper elsewhere doesn't qualify: the Best Price Guarantee compares only public, prepaid prices on Priceline. Fares from coupon promotions, loyalty programs or groups such as AAA, AARP, students and seniors don't count, and the cheaper price can't be another Express Deal.[2]

  2. Don't use tools that claim to unmask Express Deals

Priceline's terms ban bots, browser extensions and third-party services that try to identify the supplier behind an Express Deal or Pricebreaker, and using them can get your account suspended.[3]

  3. Codes need US dollars

Priceline usually picks the default currency from your IP address, so it can differ when you're abroad. The codes on its sale and referral pages require you to pay in USD, and any refund comes back in the currency you were charged, exchange-rate differences included.[3, 4, 7]

  4. Cancelled trips don't move your tier

Only completed trips count toward VIP, and only those finished since January 1 of the current year; cancelled bookings add nothing. Your tier itself doesn't expire — the one you hold at year-end carries into the next year.[1]

  5. A package price can't be split

Priceline won't itemize what each part of a vacation package cost, and each part keeps its supplier's own change and cancellation rules, fees included. Check all of them before checkout.[3]

9 questions

Priceline savings FAQ

Yes. Any Priceline account is already a VIP Member, with discounts of up to 10% on hotels and rental cars. Blue comes after 2 completed trips, Gold after 5 — or straight away with the Priceline VIP Rewards Visa — and Platinum after 20, with no spending minimum.[1]

Not against other websites. Its Best Price Guarantee refunds the difference when Priceline itself shows a lower public, prepaid price for the identical booking within 24 hours, or 200% of it on an Express Deal claimed by midnight before you travel.[2]

As a rule, no. Express Deals and Pricebreakers are non-cancellable, non-refundable and non-changeable unless checkout and your itinerary say otherwise, and you're charged whether or not you use the booking. Priceline may waive the rules as an exception, possibly for a fee.[3]

You pick a deal from the details Priceline shows — star rating, review score and amenities for hotels, vehicle class for cars, travel times for flights — and learn the hotel, rental company or airline only after booking. Priceline advertises hotel Express Deals at up to 60% off its lowest retail rate for the same itinerary.[3, 6]

It depends on the rate you book: its cancellation terms appear in the Important Information section during booking, and some rates are non-refundable. Priceline says most hotels offer free cancellation; Express Deals and Pricebreakers don't.[3, 5]

Priceline's homepage directs military members, veterans and Department of Defense civilians to AmericanForcesTravel.com, which it describes as the DoD's official leisure travel site, for their deals. Eligibility terms apply there.[5]

If the airline cancels and you don't accept a rebooking or other compensation, US DOT rules require it to refund you automatically, and a significant schedule change gives you the right to opt out for a refund. Refunds are due within 7 business days on a credit card and 20 days for other payment methods.[9]

Yes, in the app. Friends who install it and create an account from your link by December 31, 2026 move you up reward tiers, from a $25 promo code for one referral to $300 for 20. Each code needs a minimum subtotal, can't be combined and expires 30 days after it's issued; your friend gets a coupon too.[7]
