Purchases only count when you're signed in online or give your app ID, phone number or email at the register, and completing your profile adds a one-time 1,000-point bonus. Spend $500 in a calendar year to become a Bestie (2 extra points per $1) or $1,000 to become a VIPP (4 extra).^{[1, 2, 3]}

2. Switch regular buys to Autoship

   PetSmart's promotional terms give 35% off your first Autoship order, up to $20 off, and 5% off every recurring order; you have to be signed in, and some products are excluded. Treats members with an active subscription also get the Autoship Points Payout: 2,500 points ($5) for every $100 of recurring Autoship spend, issued four times a year. The first-order discount is a one-time benefit and doesn't return if you cancel and enroll again.^{[1, 4, 5, 6]}

   1. Choose Autoship on an eligible product page and pick a delivery frequency.
   2. Check the discount in the cart before you pay.
   3. Skip, change or cancel at least 24 hours before the next order is placed.

3. Ask for the Price Match Promise

   When a direct-selling competitor — a pet specialty, grocery, pharmacy or big-box retailer, in its store or on its official website — has the identical in-stock item for less, PetSmart says it will match that price, and it also matches petsmart.com prices for in-store purchases. The lower price must be active when you ask, and you need proof such as a receipt or ad. Marketplace sellers (Amazon Marketplace, eBay, Walmart Marketplace, Temu), clearance or liquidation prices, BOGO and free-with-purchase offers, rebates, pets and services don't qualify.^[7]

   1. Find the identical, in-stock item at a qualifying competitor.
   2. Keep proof of the price: a receipt, an ad or another confirmation.
   3. Ask a store associate to match it.

4. Check the Deals page for codes and dated offers

   PetSmart's Deals page groups its current sales by pet and category, and the October offers there showed their end dates. Some need a promo code: on October 18, 2026 it showed KISMET20 for 20% off Kismet dog food (large bags excluded) through November 1, 2026. Codes are case sensitive and go into the cart's promo code box one at a time, since adding several can cancel discounts already applied; PetSmart says online sales start at 6:00 a.m. EST on their first day, though start times can vary.^{[9, 10, 20, 22]}

5. Bring paper coupons, competitors' included

   PetSmart's coupon policy accepts physical manufacturer coupons with a scannable barcode, PetSmart coupons, self-printed coupons with barcodes and physical competitor coupons for the exact item sold at PetSmart. It turns away digital manufacturer or competitor coupons, and competitor coupons for free items, services, live pets or door busters. One coupon per purchase unless the coupon says otherwise, and in-store coupons aren't accepted on online orders picked up in store.^{[8, 14]}

6. Save on grooming, training and boarding

   New Grooming Salon customers get $20 off a first bath or groom bought in advance, seniors 65+ and military members get 10% off grooming on Tuesdays with Treats Rewards, and PetsHotel takes 10% off overnight stays for seniors, military members and first responders. Members can also earn two 5,000-point Salon Reward Certificates a year by booking a bath or groom in two consecutive months. Through November 1, 2026, Treats members get $20 off a 6-week training class, $40 off a 2-class package or $60 off a 3-class package.^{[1, 11]}

1. Points can't pay for Autoship orders

   Treats Rewards points can't be applied to Autoship orders, and after the first Autoship order only the 5% recurring discount applies — other promotions can't be added. Autoship also needs a credit or debit card; PayPal and gift cards aren't accepted.^{[1, 5, 6]}

2. Repeat Autoship orders take the online price on the ship date

   PetSmart's Autoship offer terms say recurring orders are charged the online price on the date they ship; the price and discount stay fixed once that order's confirmation email arrives. Read the reminder email and make changes at least 24 hours before the order is placed.^{[6, 20]}

3. First Autoship discounts differ by item

   PetSmart's Autoship FAQ says first orders typically get 35% off, but the rate shows per item: on October 18, 2026 a Bravecto chew on the Pharmacy page showed 15% off a first Autoship order, and the Autoship offer excludes select pharmacy products.^{[5, 20, 23]}

4. A strikethrough price may not be an old PetSmart price

   A crossed-out price on petsmart.com can be the non-member price in stores, the median price paid on the site over the past 90 days, or the manufacturer's suggested price. Judge the price you pay rather than the size of the markdown.^{[4, 20]}

5. Returns take back points

   Points earned on a returned item are deducted, which can push your balance below zero, and points you redeemed on it are forfeited rather than put back.^{[2, 16]}
