   Choose Autoship on eligible items and Chewy takes 35% off your first Autoship order, up to $20, then 5% off every later Autoship order — some items are excluded. You pick how often it ships and can change the date, skip an order or cancel at any time. Each delivery is charged at the price in the reminder email, or lower if the price on the site has dropped by the time the order is authorized.^{[1, 2, 20, 21]}

   2. At checkout, choose Autoship and a delivery frequency.

2. Keep one-off orders at $49 or more

   Standard shipping is free once the subtotal reaches $49, counted before tax and discounts — so an Autoship or promo discount doesn't push you back under the line. Below that, Chewy charges a $6.95 flat rate. On a first-ever Chewy order the bar is lower: free delivery over $35, applied automatically at checkout.^{[6, 12]}

   Chewy+ costs $59 a year after a 30-day free trial and drops the $49 minimum for free shipping. Members earn 5% back on dog and cat food (not vet diets) and on health and pharmacy items, and 2% on other eligible purchases, up to $100 in rewards a year; Chewy says the shipping and rewards apply on top of Autoship savings. Rewards are added once an order ships and can be applied at checkout.^{[3, 4, 5]}

   2. Shop as usual — rewards are added after each order ships.
   3. At checkout, select Apply rewards to spend them.

4. Put prescriptions and vet diets on Autoship

   Choosing Autoship for a prescription or veterinary diet item takes 5% off every order, and when the prescription or authorization runs out, Chewy contacts your vet clinic to renew it. Chewy+ members also earn 5% back on health and pharmacy items. If the prescription is at another pharmacy, Chewy Pharmacy can arrange the transfer for you.^{[4, 13, 14]}

   Chewy's own app page advertises $5 off your first app order with code APP. You need to be signed in to your account in the app, it works on one order per customer, exclusions apply, and the offer is subject to change.^[12]

6. Have Customer Care apply a manufacturer coupon

   Chewy applies manufacturer coupons through Customer Care: share the coupon details by chat or phone, and once Chewy has checked the coupon it takes the saving off your order or adjusts it afterwards. It's one coupon per eligible item, free-item coupons must be on file first, and expired, competitor and rebate coupons aren't accepted.^[15]

1. Chewy+ rewards are capped and expire

   Under the current terms you can earn at most $100 in rewards per membership year, and each reward expires at the end of the month, 12 months after you earned it. Gift cards, insurance plans such as CarePlus and spending at Chewy Vet Care clinics earn nothing.^{[4, 5]}

2. Existing Chewy+ members lose 5% on everything at renewal

   Members who joined before Oct 5, 2026 keep earning 5% on all eligible purchases (on up to $3,000 of spending a year) until their first renewal after Nov 4, 2026. From then on it's 5% on food and pharmacy and 2% on everything else.^[4]

3. Returning a promo item can cost you the freebie

   Chewy's promotion terms say that if you return items that earned a promotional benefit, such as a free eGift card, you must give the benefit back or your refund may be void. Promotional eGift cards also only arrive after the whole qualifying order has shipped.^{[11, 18]}

4. Partial returns keep the shipping fee

   Shipping charges are refunded only when the entire order comes back. Return one item from an order that paid the $6.95 flat rate and that fee stays paid.^{[6, 8]}

5. A List price isn't the usual price

   Chewy's strikethrough List price is a suggested retail price from the manufacturer or supplier and may not be what the item normally sells for. A Was price is different: it must have been Chewy's price on at least 30 of the previous 90 days.^[16]
