Signed-in members get free Basic shipping on orders of $50 or more and free returns by mail, while nonmembers pay $7.50 or $9.50 to ship and $6 per mailed return. Members earn 5 points per $1, and every 500 points is a $1 reward at checkout. Spend $350 across Gap Inc.'s brands in a calendar year and you move up to Premier: free Standard shipping, 45 days for returns and a 15% off sale day once a year.[1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

    Old Navy announces its site-wide offers in the banner on oldnavy.gap.com, with a Details link to the terms. From October 16 to October 26, 2026 (11:59 pm PT) it's 50% off online, price as marked, so there's no code to enter. The sale isn't valid in stores, and it leaves out gift cards, Today's Deals, items from third-party sellers, NFL fan gear, the Altuzarra, Stranger Things and Disney Cozy Ever After collections, and online Clearance; it also can't be combined with other offers.[11, 12]

  3. Collect Super Cash, then spend it in the redeem period

    During Old Navy's Super Cash earn periods, each purchase of $25 or more (after discounts) earns one coupon code. In the following redeem period it takes $20 off $50–$99.99, $40 off $100–$149.99 or $60 off $150 or more, online or in store. Since June 6, 2026 you don't need a membership to take part, and Encore members can still use their points on top of the Super Cash discount.[10]

    1. Spend $25 or more during an earn period — online codes arrive by email within about 24 hours, store codes print at the till.
    2. Keep the code safe: lost or stolen codes can't be replaced.
    3. Use one code per transaction in the redeem period, and spend enough to reach the tier you want.

  4. Ask for a price adjustment if the price drops

    If something you bought goes down in price, Old Navy gives a one-time price adjustment within 14 days of the order date, refunded to your original payment method. Items bought with a promotion code or another discount don't qualify — unless the only discount was free shipping — and neither do Final Sale items. For online orders, contact customer service with your order number; stores can't adjust online purchases.[7]

  5. Weigh the Encore credit card's perks before applying

    Opening an Old Navy Encore Credit Card or Encore Mastercard, subject to credit approval, brings a 30% discount on your first purchase: the code expires 14 days after the account opens, and the new card must be the only payment. Cardmembers are placed in the All-Access tier — 25 points per $1 at Gap Inc.'s brands, free Standard shipping from $35 when paying with the card, up to 60 days for returns (merchandise credit after day 30) and a 20% off sale day once a year. The first-purchase discount excludes gift cards, shipping and the Clearance Center.[1, 2]

The rules that decide what you pay

What Old Navy says about shipping, returns, holiday returns, final sale, promo codes and order changes — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.

Shipping

Free from $50 for members; no free threshold for nonmembers.

Nonmembers pay $7.50 for Basic (5–8 business days) or $9.50 for Standard (2–5 business days). Core members get free Basic shipping on orders of $50 or more after discounts and before tax; Premier and All-Access members get free Standard at $50, and All-Access cardmembers at $35 when they pay with their card. Express costs $18 and Priority $25, and both ship within the continental US only.[3, 4]

Returns

30 days; free in store, $6 by mail for nonmembers.

The 30 days run from delivery for online orders and from the purchase date in stores, and items must be unwashed and unworn. Mail returns and Happy Returns drop-offs are free for Encore members, while nonmembers have $6 taken off the refund; exchanges are free, and the original shipping charge isn't refunded. Premier members can return up to 45 days and All-Access cardmembers up to 60, but anything returned after day 30 comes back as a Merchandise Return Card.[5, 6]

Holiday returns

Bought Oct 15–Dec 24? Return it until Jan 15.

Purchases made online or in stores between October 15 and December 24 can be returned through January 15 of the following year, or within the usual 30 days if that ends later. Proof of purchase is required, and items sold and shipped by third-party sellers aren't covered.[6]

Final sale

Some items can't come back at all.

Final Sale items, Encore Market redemptions and masks can't be returned or exchanged, and Old Navy Beauty products go back only in store and only unopened. Items marked mail only must be mailed back, and swimwear needs its tags and hygienic liner. Damaged or defective items can be returned at any time.[6]

Promo codes

Up to five codes and rewards per order, but most don't combine.

Codes go in the payments section at checkout, typed exactly as shown. You can use up to five promotion codes and rewards on one purchase, but most promotions can't be combined; if two clash, checkout keeps the one worth more to you and you can save the other for a later order. Cardmember-only promotions don't apply to online orders paid through Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Afterpay or Klarna.[8]

Order changes

45 minutes to cancel an item or change the address.

Signed-in shoppers see any self-service options under Order Details for 45 minutes after ordering. After that, return what you don't want instead — and if you cancel an item bought with a promotion, you may not be able to get that discount again.[9]

Watch out for

Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.

  1. Shopping without an account costs extra

    Old Navy's shipping table has no free-shipping threshold for nonmembers — Basic costs $7.50 and Standard $9.50 — and nonmembers have $6 deducted from each mail-return refund. Encore membership is free.[4, 5]

  2. A promo code rules out a later price adjustment

    Items bought with a promotion code or another discount can't get a price adjustment if the price drops later; a free-shipping-only discount is the one exception.[7]

  3. Digital wallets switch off card perks

    Pay with an Encore Credit Card through Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Afterpay or Klarna and cardmember-only promotions won't apply to the online order, and free shipping on orders of $35–$49.99 doesn't apply either.[2, 8]

  4. Super Cash isn't refunded on returns

    Return items bought with a Super Cash coupon and the discount isn't credited back. Spend below a coupon's tier and you get only the lower value, losing the rest of that coupon.[10]

  5. A crossed-out price isn't today's price

    Old Navy's price policy says the strikethrough price is one it charged before — recently or in a past season — or the value of a similar item, and may not be the price in effect on any given day.[13]

500 points make a $1 reward. Members earn 5 points per $1 — Old Navy calls it 1% back — and cardmembers 25 points per $1 with the card, or 5% back. Points expire if you don't earn or use any for 12 months.[2, 3]

Encore members get a Birthday Bonus if their birthday is in their account at least seven business days before the first day of their birthday month. The gift varies; Premier members get an extra gift for one family member and All-Access cardmembers for up to three.[2, 3]

An Old Navy coupon program that runs in earn and redeem periods: spend $25 or more while it's on to get a code, then use it later for $20 off $50, $40 off $100 or $60 off $150 or more. It's one code per transaction, and it can't be combined with other coupons or promotions.[10]

Yes. Purchases made between October 15 and December 24 can be returned through January 15 of the following year, or within the normal 30 days if that's later. Items sold and shipped by third-party sellers aren't included.[6]
