Nordstrom Promo Codes: How to Actually Save

Nordstrom says it doesn't issue discount coupons, so the savings sit elsewhere: Nordy Club points that turn into Notes, a 10-day price adjustment when a full-price item gets cheaper, its sale events, and free shipping and returns with no fixed return deadline.

Does Nordstrom have promo codes?

Not for discounts. Nordstrom says it doesn't offer coupons for sales or discounts and that Nordstrom coupon codes found on other sites aren't valid. Some promotions, such as gifts with purchase, use a code shown on the promotion or product page, and many apply automatically at checkout.[4]

Our verdict

Join The Nordy Club for free and give your mobile number at checkout — each $1 earns a point, and 1,000 points become a $10 Note. If something you paid full price for drops in price within 10 days, ask for a price adjustment; Anniversary Sale and savings-event markdowns qualify too. Skip the coupon hunt: Nordstrom says codes posted on other sites aren't valid.

Ways to save at Nordstrom

Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.

  1. Join The Nordy Club and give your number at checkout

    1 point per $1, a $10 Note per 1,000Low effortUS residents 18 and older

The Nordy Club costs nothing to join, and members earn 1 point for every $1 of net spend at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Local — counted after taxes, shipping and anything paid with Notes or gift cards. Every 1,000 points turns into a $10 Nordstrom Note automatically, which you can spend at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Last Chance and Nordstrom Local. Points only post when Nordstrom knows it's you: give your mobile number in store, or sign in online with the same number on both accounts.[1, 2]

    1. Join online or ask a salesperson — you need your name, mobile number and email.
    2. Sign in before you check out online, or give your mobile number at the register.
    3. Choose your Note at checkout; digital Notes show up once your accounts are linked.
  2. Ask for a price adjustment if the price drops within 10 days

The difference, refundedLow effortItems bought at full price

If Nordstrom lowers the price of something you bought from it at full price and your color and size are still available, it refunds the difference when you ask within 10 days of the in-store purchase or shipment date. Its pricing policy lists Anniversary Sale and savings-event items as eligible on that same condition. The credit goes back to your original payment, and each item can be adjusted only once.[3, 9]

    1. Keep an eye on the item's price for 10 days after you buy it or it ships.
    2. Open Request a price adjustment on nordstrom.com and enter your order number and ZIP code.
    3. An approved adjustment is credited to the card or payment you used.
  3. Plan big buys around the Anniversary and Half-Yearly sales

Sale prices on new-season stockSome effortAnyone who can wait for an event

Nordstrom calls its Anniversary Sale, held every July/August, its best sale of the year — in 2026 it ran July 18 to August 9, with new fall fashion at sale prices. A Half-Yearly Sale arrives each spring and fall, alongside four more seasonal sales. Nordstrom cardmembers get early access to the Anniversary Sale, and a full-price purchase that gets marked down at one of these events within 10 days of buying or shipping still qualifies for a price adjustment.[1, 3, 4, 8]

  4. Look for gifts with purchase and Buy & Save offers

A free gift or a multi-buy discountLow effortAnyone buying a promoted brand or item

Instead of coupons, Nordstrom runs two kinds of promotion: gifts with purchase, tied to a brand, an item or a minimum order, and Buy & Save, a discount for buying two or more of one item or of a set group. Many promotions are added automatically at checkout. When one needs a code, Nordstrom shows it on the promotion or product details page — enter it at checkout, and don't worry about capital letters.[4]

  5. Save a Personal Double Points Day for a big purchase

Twice your base points for a dayLow effortInfluencer status and above

Reach $500 of net purchases in a calendar year — or open a Nordstrom credit card, subject to credit approval — and you move up to Influencer, which brings 3 Personal Double Points Days; Ambassador ($5,000) gets 4 and Icon ($15,000 on a Nordstrom card) gets 5. Schedule one in the app, online, by phone or in store, and it lasts until 11:59 pm PT that day. It doesn't stack with a bonus points promotion: on a promo day you earn only the promotional points.[1]

Nordstrom promo codes

Codes and offers kept by David Jones, who keeps this guide's deals current.

Nordstrom says it doesn't offer coupons for sales or discounts and that codes posted on other sites aren't valid; when an offer does need a promo code, Nordstrom shows it on its own promotion or product page. So we don't list codes here, only dated offers shown on nordstrom.com.

We don't list Nordstrom codes

Nordstrom's codes are personal, and its rules don't allow sites like ours to publish them — so this guide sticks to the savings above, which work without one.

6 rules · nordstrom.com, United States

The rules that decide what you pay

What Nordstrom says about shipping, returns, refunds, return exceptions, price adjustment and points and Notes — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.

Shipping

Free on almost everything, to anywhere in the US.

Nordstrom ships almost any item on its site for free to any US address, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, and offers two-day and next-day options on eligible items. Nordy Club members can also get free 1-, 2- or 3-business-day shipping on eligible items in select areas — enter your ZIP code while shopping to see. Online orders can be picked up at a Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store.[1, 5]

Returns

Free in store or by mail, with no fixed deadline.

Nordstrom says it sets no time limit on returns or exchanges and handles each return case by case. Labels no longer come in the box: start a mail return online, then print a prepaid label or show a QR code at an eligible USPS or FedEx location. Nordstrom.com purchases can also go back to Nordstrom Rack stores — except fine jewelry and designer items.[6, 7]

Refunds

To your original payment; shipping charges aren't refunded.

Store returns are refunded in 3–5 business days; mail returns take 8–12 business days to process, plus 3–5 business days for the refund. Without a receipt, Nordstrom first tries to find the purchase another way; if there's no record of sale and it chooses to refund, it asks for personal identification. If you paid with a Note, the unused amount comes back to you as a Note.[1, 6]

Return exceptions

A few items can't go back by mail, or at all.

Gift cards can't be returned, fine jewelry can't be sent back by mail, and car seats and bases are accepted only in their original unopened boxes. Pre-owned Watchfinder & Co. items aren't eligible for a refund or exchange, and Balsam Hill products are taken back within 30 days of purchase or before December 25, only by calling customer service. Items from third-party sellers have their own return-by date in your order history.[6]

Price adjustment

Full-price items, within 10 days, once per item.

Your color and size must still be in stock at the lower price. Items first bought on sale, and anything from third-party sellers or Nordstrom Marketplace, don't qualify. Nordstrom doesn't match other retailers' prices and won't take price adjustment requests filed by third-party services.[3]

Points and Notes

Points lapse after 12 quiet months; Notes 12 months after issue.

All points expire after 12 consecutive months without Nordy Club activity, such as earning points or using a Note. Standard Notes expire 12 months after they're issued, and Bonus Notes from promotions can expire sooner. Points have no cash value, and points from an item you return are taken back — even if that leaves your balance negative.[1, 2]

When to shop at Nordstrom

Sale events from Nordstrom's own pages, each under the months it runs.

  • Jul–Aug

    Anniversary Sale

Nordstrom's biggest sale, held every July/August; in 2026 it ran July 18 – August 9. Cardmembers get early access before the public opening, and Nordstrom generally announces the dates by email.[1, 4, 8]

5 catches in the fine print

Watch out for

Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.

  1. Coupon codes on other sites don't work

Nordstrom says it doesn't offer coupons for sales or discounts, and that anything labelled a Nordstrom coupon or discount code on other sites isn't valid. Genuine promo codes appear on Nordstrom's own promotion and product pages.[4]

  2. Nordstrom Rack stores don't earn points

Since June 3, 2025, purchases at Nordstrom Rack locations no longer earn Nordy Club points, and the program terms list no points at Rack or Last Chance. You can still spend your Notes there.[1, 2]

  3. Notes and points run out

A standard Note expires 12 months after it's issued, and your whole points balance goes after 12 months with no activity. Nordstrom puts the job of tracking those dates on you.[1]

  4. Paying through PayPal cuts card points

A Nordstrom card linked to PayPal earns 1 point per $1 at Nordstrom instead of your usual base rate, and you have to give your mobile number to get even that.[1]

  5. The birthday perk needs a month's notice

Your birthday has to be saved in your account at least 30 days before your birthday month, and the reward arrives by email — so you need to be opted in to Nordstrom's marketing emails. It needs a purchase of at least $10.01.[1]
