Namecheap Promo Codes & Coupon Codes

Namecheap swaps its coupon codes every month and shows more on individual product pages, so compare both before paying. Shared Hosting costs less a month on yearly or two-year billing, but hosting renewals return to the regular price and take no promo codes.

Does Namecheap have promo codes?

Yes. Namecheap posts new coupon codes each month on its coupons page — the October 2026 codes GHOSTDOT, GHOSTPE and GHOSTSSL are valid through October 31 — and product pages carry their own, such as NEWCOM648 for a new customer's first .com on October 17, 2026. Its Promos page gathers the current deals, each with its own terms.[1, 3, 18]

Our verdict

Check Namecheap's monthly coupons page (October's codes end October 31, 2026) against the code on the product page itself — on October 17, 2026 the .com page gave new customers a first-year .com for $6.48 with NEWCOM648. For Shared Hosting, billing yearly or every two years brings Stellar down from $5.88 to $2.28 or $1.88 a month, but renewals return to the regular price, and an account started on the free trial loses the 30-day money-back guarantee.

  1. Check the monthly coupons page before checkout

October 2026: GHOSTDOT, GHOSTPE, GHOSTSSLLow effortAnyone buying a domain, email or SSL

Namecheap posts a fresh set of codes on its monthly coupons page, each valid only for the dates shown or while supplies last. The October 2026 set runs through October 31: GHOSTDOT lowers first-year registrations and transfers on 16 extensions (a .com registers for $11.08 plus the $0.20 ICANN fee), GHOSTPE takes up to 40% off Professional Business Email, and GHOSTSSL cuts the price of Standard Wildcard SSL. The domain prices exclude premium and aftermarket names.[1, 2]

    1. Open namecheap.com/promos/coupons and note this month's code and its dates.
    2. Sign in first — Namecheap says coupon codes only work when you're logged in.
    3. Add the product to your cart, type the code in the coupon field and click Apply.
  2. Compare it with the code on the product page

$6.48 first-year .com for new customersLow effortNew customers, and .net or email buyers

Product pages carry codes of their own. On October 17, 2026 the .com page offered new customers NEWCOM648: a first-year .com for $6.48, limited to one domain per user or household; without it the first year cost $11.28. The same day, NETDEAL1168 on the .net page priced a first-year .net at $11.68, below GHOSTDOT's $12.38 plus the ICANN fee — while for a one-year Launch email plan, GHOSTPE's $11.30 undercut the $11.88 the email page quoted with its own code, MAILDEAL.[1, 3, 4, 5]

  3. Pay for Shared Hosting yearly or every two years

Stellar from $1.88/mo instead of $5.88Low effortShared Hosting buyers

The Shared Hosting discount applies only to annual and two-year plans. On October 17, 2026, with the US datacenter selected, Stellar cost $5.88 a month billed monthly, $2.28 billed yearly and $1.88 billed every two years; Stellar Plus was $7.88, $2.98 and $2.28. The lower rate covers the first term only: hosting renews at the regular price, and no promo code can be applied to a renewal.[6, 7]

  4. Transfer domains in and keep the added year

.com transfer at $11.48, with a year addedSome effortDomains registered at another company

On October 17, 2026 Namecheap's transfer page listed a .com transfer at $11.48 (23% off $14.98) and .net at $12.98. When a transfer completes, a one-year renewal is added for extensions whose registry requires it, and the months left on the old registration carry over; for domains coming from GoDaddy, the page offers the code BYEBYEGD on .com, .net, .org and .co. If you renewed at the old registrar within the last 45 days after the domain had expired, Namecheap suggests waiting until those 45 days pass, or the extra year may not be added.[9]

  5. Students: claim the free .me through nc.me

A .me domain free for the first yearSome effortGitHub Student Developer Pack members, students at supported universities

Namecheap's Education Program at nc.me gives students a .me domain free for the first year. Through the GitHub Student Developer Pack it comes with one SSL certificate free for a year; students at select universities in the US, UK, Canada and Australia get it bundled with GitHub Pages and Withheld for Privacy. Both routes list first-year deals on other extensions, including a .com for $8.88, limited to one of each per household or business. The bundle renews automatically, and Namecheap emails 30 days beforehand with a way to opt out.[10, 11]

6 rules · namecheap.com, United States

The rules that decide what you pay

What Namecheap says about renewals, auto-renew, cancelling hosting, hosting refunds, domain refunds and SSL refunds — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.

Renewals

Discounts cover the first term; renewals bill at regular prices.

Coupon prices for domains apply to first-year registrations and transfers, the Shared Hosting discount applies to new annual and two-year plans but not renewals, and the MAILDEAL email code covers the first purchase only. Hosting renews at the regular price with no promo code accepted, and codes aren't applied automatically when anything auto-renews.[1, 5, 6, 7, 14]

Auto-renew

Paid from your account balance first, then your cards — not PayPal.

Namecheap tries to renew a domain 30 days before it expires and retries every 24 hours until it succeeds or the domain expires. It charges your account balance first, then your default card and any other saved cards in the order you set; PayPal can't pay automatic renewals except for Apps. If none of them can cover the charge, the renewal doesn't happen.[14]

Cancelling hosting

Switch off auto-renew, or cancel at once from Hosting List.

With auto-renew off, a hosting package is suspended after its billing date and cancelled afterwards; the Cancel service button ends it straight away and erases its data immediately. Cancelling hosting doesn't cancel the domain registration linked to it. For a refund, cancel the hosting first, then contact Billing through Live Chat or billing@namecheap.com.[13, 15]

Hosting refunds

30 days on a first-time hosting account; 48 hours after a renewal.

Shared, Reseller and VPS packages can be refunded in full within 30 days of purchase, on first-time hosting accounts only — and for Shared Hosting, not if the account began with the 30-day free trial, or if you opened a second Namecheap account or closed one and signed up again. A renewal may be refunded if you cancel within 48 hours of it; otherwise Namecheap may consider a prorated refund. Paid add-ons, third-party licenses such as cPanel and any domain fees in the package aren't refunded.[6, 12, 13]

Domain refunds

Within 5 days (120 hours), for a valid reason, where the registry allows.

Namecheap treats registrations and renewals as final, but at its discretion may refund a new registration, or a renewal of most extensions, cancelled for a valid reason within 5 days. Renewals can't be cancelled at all for extensions including .ca, .de, .eu, .fr and .nl, and premium domains are never refunded. A registered name can't be edited, so check the spelling before you pay.[12, 13]

SSL refunds

Up to 90 days if not yet issued; 15 days once it's active.

A certificate still in New, Renewal or Pending status can be refunded on a written request within 90 days of purchase; once it's Active or Installed, the request has to come within 15 days of that change, inside the same 90 days. SSL refunds are paid as Namecheap account credit.[12, 13]

5 catches in the fine print

Watch out for

Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.

  1. Starting on the free trial ends the money-back guarantee

Shared Hosting's 30-day money-back guarantee covers only first-time customers who start their account without the 30-day trial. If you might want a refund, buy the plan outright rather than trialling it.[6]

  2. $0.99 domains renew at the normal rate

On October 17, 2026 the 99SPECIAL code took selected extensions to $0.99 for the first year only; the same page listed .online renewing at $35.68 a year, .site at $29.98 and .help at $43.98. The code doesn't cover renewals or transfers and works for one domain per household.[8]

  3. A lapsed domain costs far more to win back

On October 17, 2026 a one-year .com renewal was $18.48, and there are about 30 days after expiry to renew at the normal rate. After that it can enter the Redemption Grace Period, where Namecheap lists .com redemption at $88.48 plus the ICANN fee — a fee it says the registry sets.[3, 16]

  4. Refunds land as account credit unless you ask

Namecheap credits refunds to your account balance by default; card and PayPal purchases may go back to the original payment if you request it, purchases paid from account funds come back only as credit, and cryptocurrency deposits aren't refunded. Any processing fees are deducted.[12, 13]

  5. A refund can cost you the free domain

If a purchase came with a free domain and you cancel it for a refund, Namecheap deducts the domain's standard price; if the refund is smaller, you pay the difference or give the domain up. The refund policy also lists services bought "at a reduced fee or on promotion" among those that aren't refundable.[12]

Namecheap savings FAQ

Sign in first: Namecheap says coupon codes only work when you're logged in. Add the product to your cart, enter the code in the coupon field and click Apply — the price changes if the code is valid. Codes aren't applied automatically when a service auto-renews.[2, 14]

Students can get a .me domain free for a year through nc.me, Namecheap's Education Program, either with the GitHub Student Developer Pack or as a student at a supported university in the US, UK, Canada or Australia. It renews automatically after the first year unless you opt out from the email Namecheap sends 30 days ahead.[10, 11]

It depends on the product: new domains within 5 days (120 hours) for a valid reason, first-time hosting accounts within 30 days, Private Email within 7 days of the charge, and SSL certificates within 90 days if not yet issued. Domain, hosting and email refunds are at Namecheap's discretion, and refunds go to your account balance unless you ask otherwise.[12, 13]

On October 17, 2026 the .com page listed a one-year renewal at $18.48, against $11.28 for a first-year registration. The same page offered up to 15% off multi-year renewals before November 1, 2026, with two years listed at $33.26 instead of $36.96.[3]

Yes. Eligible domains registered or transferred to Namecheap come with free domain privacy for life, provided by Withheld for Privacy. A handful of extensions can't have it because of registry rules.[3]

On October 17, 2026 Shared Hosting could be tried free for 30 days, one trial per account, and every Private Email plan has a 30-day free trial. Starting Shared Hosting on the trial means its 30-day money-back guarantee no longer applies.[5, 6]

Every Shared Hosting plan includes 50 Standard SSL certificates free for one year, installed automatically. Bought on its own, Standard SSL was listed on October 17, 2026 at $11.00 a year on a one-year term, or $5.99 a year on a five-year term.[6, 17]

For hosting, open Hosting List, click Manage and untick the auto-renew option; the package is then suspended after its billing date and cancelled. For a domain, open Domain List, click Manage and switch off its auto-renew toggle.[14, 15]
