1. Sign in to IHG One Rewards before you search

   Membership costs nothing, and eligible hotels show the member discount once you're signed in on ihg.com or the IHG One Rewards app; IHG's 2026 savings guide describes it as typically 3–5% below the non-member rate, on flexible and advance rates alike. Paid stays booked direct earn 10 points per $1 at most brands (5 at Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites), and every member gets free internet plus check-out as late as 2 p.m. when the room is available. Rooms booked through Expedia, Priceline or similar sites count as non-qualifying: on most such rates you get no points on the room and no member benefits.^{[3, 4, 5, 8]}

2. Prepay with Book Early & Save when your dates are fixed

   Reserve at least 3 days ahead and, under its terms, Book Early & Save takes up to 10% off the Best Flexible Rate, with deeper cuts at some hotels; IHG's flexible-versus-prepaid guide describes advance rates in general as typically 10–20% below Flexible. The price of that saving: the full stay is charged when you book and can't be refunded, exchanged or cancelled, and checking out early brings a hotel fee. IHG's guides say the member discount also applies to advance rates, so sign in before you book one.^{[8, 9, 10]}

3. Pick AAA, senior, military or government rates if you qualify

   The Rate Preference menu on ihg.com covers AAA/CAA, Government/Military and Member Senior rates. The senior rate is for IHG One Rewards members 62 or older (or holding a retired persons organization ID) and gives more when booked 3+ days out; the Military Appreciation rate is for leisure trips by US and Canadian active-duty, veteran and retired service members and their families; the Government rate covers federal, state and local government staff, military personnel, defense and cost-reimbursable contractors, and state-funded universities and healthcare facilities. The discount varies by hotel, blackout dates apply to the senior, military and government rates, and the hotel can ask for a card, ID or work orders at check-in — IHG itself suggests comparing these rates with the member discount first.^{[8, 11, 12, 13, 14]}

4. At Holiday Inn, let the kids stay and eat free

   Under Kids Stay and Eat Free, US hotels let up to two children aged 18 and under stay free in a room with up to two adults, within the room's occupancy limit. Children 11 and under eat free from the Kids' Menu at breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel restaurant when a registered adult orders a full-price main course — up to four children per family, or two per parent, each meal. Free meals don't apply to room service or to group (10+ rooms), travel-industry or corporate rates, and Holiday Inn Express isn't among the brands the terms name.^[17]

5. File a Best Price Guarantee claim within 24 hours

   Book through an IHG channel using the Best Available search. If, within 24 hours of booking and more than 24 hours before standard check-in, a public non-IHG site offers the same hotel, room type, dates, guest count and cancellation terms at least 1% cheaper in the same currency, file IHG's online claim form. IHG checks the rate itself, moves your booking to the lower nightly rate and gives IHG One Rewards members 5X points on the room rate, up to 40,000, after the stay. One claim is allowed per confirmation number, and Iberostar Beachfront Resorts are excluded.^{[1, 2]}

   1. Book direct with Best Available selected.
   2. Price the identical room on other sites within 24 hours.
   3. Submit the online Claim Form (emailed claims don't count) and keep your member number on the booking until check-out.

6. Register for Up to 3X points before your next stays

   IHG's Up to 3X promotion covers stays from October 1 to December 31, 2026; you can register until December 31, 2026, but stays finished before you register don't count. From your second qualifying stay booked direct you earn twice the base points, or three times when that stay is booked in the IHG One Rewards app on iOS or Android, with no cap. Each night must total more than $30, Reward Nights and Points & Cash stays are excluded, and bookings made on Expedia or Booking.com earn no bonus.^[15]

IHG's Offers page showed no public promo code on October 17, 2026; IHG's savings come through member rates, registered member promotions and the eligibility rates in its search. We list only public offers from IHG's own pages, with their end dates; corporate IDs and group codes belong to a company or a group booking, so we don't list them.

  Free IHG One Rewards membership and registration (open through December 31, 2026) required; stays completed before registering don't count, and the first qualifying stay earns no bonus. A qualifying stay is booked through IHG's own channels at a qualifying rate and totals more than US$30 per night; Reward Nights, Points & Cash and bookings on sites such as Expedia or Booking.com are excluded. Triple points need the IHG One Rewards app on iOS or Android. Bonus is uncapped but doesn't count toward Elite status; only one room per night counts.

1. Travel-site bookings earn nothing

   Stays booked on Expedia, Priceline and similar sites are non-qualifying: no points on the room and, on most such rates, no member benefits. They don't count toward the Up to 3X promotion either.^{[3, 15]}

2. A Reward Night isn't always free at the desk

   Points cover a standard room and government-mandated taxes, but the hotel can still collect resort fees or service charges before check-out. Meals, incidentals and any extra-person charges beyond double occupancy are yours to pay.^[3]

3. IHG's pages disagree on the fourth free night

   IHG's credit-card page and help FAQ tie "redeem 3 nights, get the 4th night free" to its US Chase cards on four-night points stays, while its 2026 savings guide also lists Platinum Elite members. Check that the free night shows before you confirm; the 15% new-hotel Reward Night discount can't be combined with it on stays of four nights or more.^{[7, 8, 16, 18]}

4. Coupon prices don't win a price claim

   The Best Price Guarantee ignores rates that need a discount code, a login or a particular credit card, rates you can book without giving a payment method, package prices and sites that hide the hotel until you pay. Changing or cancelling the booking after a claim is approved voids it.^{[1, 2]}

5. Targeted promotions are for invitees only

   Many IHG One Rewards bonus offers go only to members who received a targeted message, and registering for one you weren't invited to is a program violation that can freeze the account and forfeit its points.^[3]
