HP Promo Codes, Coupons & Student Discount

HP posts its own coupon codes on its Coupons & Promos page, each with a product list and an end date. Beyond them: up to 40% off in the Education and Frontline Heroes stores, a refund if HP.com cuts a price within 30 days of delivery, and Instant Ink from $1.99 a month.

Does HP have promo codes?

Yes. HP posts its own coupon codes on its Coupons & Promos page and says it adds fresh ones every month; each covers a listed set of products and has an end date. In October 2026 they included PREMIUM500 ($500 off select OmniBook Ultra and OmniStudio X PCs) and ANNIVERSARY25 (25% off listed laptops, monitors and accessories), both ending October 17.[1, 14]

Our verdict

Start on HP's Coupons & Promos page: HP lists its live codes there with product lists and end dates, and only one code works per checkout. If you're a student, parent, teacher, veteran or frontline worker, price the same PC in the Education or Frontline Heroes store (up to 40% off) first, and if HP.com lowers an eligible item's price within 30 days of delivery, ask Order Support for the difference.

Ways to save at HP

Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.

  1. Check HP's Coupons & Promos page before checkout

Up to $500 off (October 2026 codes)Low effortAnyone buying a product a code lists

HP publishes its own coupon codes on its Coupons & Promos page and says it adds fresh ones every month. Each code names the exact products, HP stores and dates it covers: in October 2026, PREMIUM500 took $500 off select OmniBook Ultra and OmniStudio X PCs, ANNIVERSARY25 took 25% off up to two listed laptops, monitors or accessories, and five business-PC codes took $35 to $135 off depending on the price. Only one code works per checkout, and the October codes all excluded printers, supplies, refurbished items and bundles.[1, 9, 14]

    1. Open Coupons & Promos from the hp.com footer and find a code that lists your product.
    2. Open See terms to check the product list, the stores it works in and the end date.
    3. Paste the code into the Coupon code box at checkout and click Apply before you pay.
  2. Buy through the Education or Frontline Heroes store if you qualify

Up to 40% offSome effortStudents, parents, teachers, military, medical staff, first responders

HP runs two private stores with up to 40% off select PCs, accessories and printers; 40% is the top of HP's range, not the usual cut. The Education store is open to US students, their parents or guardians and teachers (HP says no student ID is needed, though it can check eligibility at any time), while Frontline Heroes covers military members, veterans and their families, first responders, nurses, doctors, medical providers and hospital staff, who sign up with an ID.me account. Both cap purchases at 2 PCs, 2 tablets, 2 printers, 10 accessories and 12 supplies per calendar year, and ink and toner get no program discount.[4, 5]

    1. Open Discount Programs on hp.com and choose the Education or Frontline Heroes store.
    2. Register (Frontline Heroes asks you to sign in with ID.me) and shop while signed in.
    3. Compare the program price with the regular store price plus any current code before you buy.
  3. Claim the difference if HP.com drops the price

Price drop refunded within 30 days of deliveryLow effortHP-branded consumer products bought on HP.com

If HP lowers the price of something you bought while it's still in stock, contact Order Support within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a link to the lower price, and HP refunds the difference once the order has shipped. It's one adjustment per item, and it doesn't cover business series PCs (ZBook, Elite, Pro, workstations), non-HP brands, coupon purchases, doorbusters or clearance.[6, 9]

    1. Note your delivery date and watch the item's HP.com price for the next 30 days.
    2. Send Order Support your order number, the product link and the new price.
    3. Allow 3 to 5 business days for the refund to show on your account once HP issues it.
  4. Ask for a price match before you order

A rival retailer's lower priceSome effortPCs, HP printers, displays and accessories

Call 1-800-888-0229 or chat with HP's sales team before you buy — price matches can't be requested by email. HP matches the current pre-tax price that a nationally recognized online retailer such as Dell.com, Lenovo.com, Amazon.com or BestBuy.com charges when it sells and ships the item itself, for a Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Samsung or HP PC with identical specs or the same model number of an HP printer, display or accessory. You get the match or an HP.com coupon, not both, and marketplace sellers, Costco, Sam's Club, coupon prices, open-box and refurbished offers don't count.[6]

  5. Join HP Rewards for printers, ink and business PCs

3% back, plus 100 points for joiningLow effortGeneral Store shoppers outside other HP programs

HP Rewards is free and pays 1 point per $1 — HP calls it 3% back — on qualifying items: select printers, ink, toner and paper, select monitors, accessories and Care Packs, and Elite, Pro and Workstation business PCs. Consumer PCs stopped earning on October 31, 2025, so look for the HP Rewards star on the product page. You have to be signed in when you order; points stay pending for about 36 days after shipping and expire 180 days after they become available.[2, 3]

  6. Switch to Instant Ink if you print every month

Plans from $1.99 a monthLow effortOwners of an eligible HP printer on the internet

Instant Ink sends new cartridges before you run out, based on the ink levels your printer reports, and you pay by pages: 10 pages for $1.99, 50 for $5.99, 100 for $8.49, 300 for $16.99 or 700 for $32.99 a month. Unused pages roll over up to three times your plan, extra sets of 10–15 pages cost $2, and a yearly plan paid upfront takes 10% off. HP's "up to 50%" savings figure is based on its 700-page plan, so smaller plans can't be assumed to save that much.[10]

6 rules · hp.com, United States

The rules that decide what you pay

What HP says about shipping, returns, non-returnable items, refunds, coupons and order changes — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.

Shipping

50 states and DC only — no P.O. boxes, territories or store pickup.

HP's shipping policy prices delivery by cart weight, destination and speed and shows the rate in the cart; in October 2026 its product pages carried a free storewide shipping offer and free priority shipping on ink and toner, with no end date shown. Ready-to-ship items ordered before 2:30 pm Eastern on a business day leave the same day, while custom-configured PCs ship once they're built.[8, 9, 11, 12]

Returns

30 days from delivery, with a prepaid FedEx label.

Start the return online, then hand the box to a staffed FedEx location — not a drop box — and keep the receipt; it has to reach HP within 30 days of the return authorization. Since August 1, 2026 HP no longer charges consumers buying for personal use a restocking fee (it could previously take up to 15%), but original shipping charges aren't refunded on change-of-mind returns.[7]

Non-returnable items

Gift cards, opened software and subscription supplies stay sold.

HP won't take back HP Store gift cards, opened or downloaded software, Parts Store orders, Instant Ink or All-In Plan items, or large-format printers unless they're defective. Its FAQ says bundles must come back complete, and if a partial return means the rest no longer qualifies for a bundle or promo discount, that discount is subtracted from the refund.[7, 9]

Refunds

Back to the original payment, up to about 10 business days after HP receives the item.

HP allows up to 5 business days to check a returned item, and your bank up to 5 more to post the refund. Interest on a financed purchase isn't refunded; HP Rewards points you spent come back, and points you earned on the item are taken off your balance.[7]

Coupons

One code per checkout, one use per customer.

HP's codes can't be used on gift cards, aren't applied to earlier orders and can't be combined with a price match. Each code lists the HP stores it works in: in October 2026, PREMIUM500 and ANNIVERSARY25 also worked in the Education and Frontline Heroes stores, while the business-PC codes were limited to the General Store's online and mobile cart.[1, 6, 9]

Order changes

Cancel within an hour, or plan on a return.

If processing hasn't started, Cancel Products on the order page works for about an hour after you submit; after that a cancellation request isn't guaranteed, and HP doesn't allow major address changes. Report a missing, damaged or wrong delivery within 10 days of delivery or the last tracking scan.[8, 9]

5 catches in the fine print

Watch out for

Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.

  1. Crossed-out prices are HP's MSRP

HP's site disclaimer says the strikethrough price is its suggested retail price for authorized channel partners and may not be the prevailing market or regular retail price. A big "save" figure is measured against that MSRP, so compare other retailers before treating it as the real discount.[1]

  2. Consumer laptops no longer earn HP Rewards

Since October 31, 2025, consumer PCs aren't a qualifying HP Rewards category. Points come only from the listed categories — select printers, supplies, monitors, accessories, Care Packs and business PCs — so check for the HP Rewards star before counting on 3% back.[2, 3]

  3. Program stores and HP Rewards don't mix

HP Rewards' terms exclude anyone enrolled in another HP discount program, naming the Education and Frontline Heroes stores and employee purchase programs, and those stores' own terms keep their purchases separate from HP's loyalty program.[3, 4, 5]

  4. Price protection skips the big sales

Items bought during Thanksgiving week, Cyber Week, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, the 4th of July, Labor Day and Red Tag Sales aren't eligible for a price-drop refund, and neither are doorbusters, Deal of the Day items or anything bought with a coupon.[6]

  5. Instant Ink cartridges stop when you cancel

After you cancel, Instant Ink cartridges stop working at the end of that billing cycle, so keep standard HP cartridges ready. A yearly plan can be cancelled for a partial refund only within its first 30 days.[10]

9 questions

HP savings FAQ

Yes, through the HP Education store: up to 40% off select PCs, accessories and printers for US students, their parents or guardians and teachers. HP says no student ID is required to sign up, but purchases are capped each calendar year — for example at 2 PCs and 2 printers.[4]

Yes. The HP Frontline Heroes store offers up to 40% off to US military members, veterans and their families, as well as first responders, nurses, doctors, medical providers and hospital staff. You register with an ID.me account, and the same yearly purchase limits as the Education store apply.[5]

In October 2026 HP's product pages showed free storewide shipping and free priority shipping on ink and toner, with no end date. Outside such offers, HP's shipping policy prices delivery by cart weight, destination and speed, and it ships only to the 50 states and DC.[8, 11, 12]

You have 30 days from delivery to start a return, and HP emails a prepaid FedEx label. Since August 1, 2026 there's no restocking fee on personal-use purchases, but original shipping charges aren't refunded if you simply changed your mind, and gift cards, opened software and Instant Ink items can't be returned.[7]

Yes, before you buy: call or chat with HP sales and it will match a nationally recognized online retailer's pre-tax price on a comparable PC or the same HP printer, display or accessory model. After you buy, HP's price protection refunds an HP.com price drop on eligible items within 30 days of delivery.[6, 9]

It's free and pays 1 point per $1 — which HP describes as 3% back — on qualifying printers, supplies, accessories and business PCs, plus 100 points for joining. Consumer PCs stopped earning on October 31, 2025, and points expire 180 days after they become available.[2, 3]

Monthly plans run from $1.99 for 10 pages to $32.99 for 700 pages, unused pages roll over up to three times your plan, and extra sets of 10–15 pages cost $2. You can change or cancel at any time, but the Instant Ink cartridges stop working after the billing cycle in which you cancel.[10]

Under HP's Risk-Free Care Pack rebate, if you buy a qualifying 3-year Care Pack for an eligible PC and never use it, you can send the rebate form and invoice within 90 days after it expires for a rebate check. HP's coupons page lists the offer through December 31, 2026, and sales tax isn't refunded.[1, 13]
