Grubhub Promo Codes, Grubhub+ & No-Fee Orders
Grubhub drops its delivery and service fees on restaurant orders with a $50+ subtotal, no membership needed. Below that, Grubhub+ covers delivery on $12+ orders and is free with Amazon Prime, and the Grubhub Guarantee pays out if a rival app was cheaper.
Does Grubhub have promo codes?
Yes. Grubhub issues promo codes to its diners, for example by email, and restaurants run Perks in the app, but its Perks terms say promotions can't be made available to the general public without Grubhub's permission. Enter a code at checkout under Add a promo code; it comes off the subtotal, not tax, tip or fees.[10, 11, 12]

- Top way to save: Bring restaurant orders up to a $50 subtotal
Our verdict
Bring restaurant orders up to a $50 subtotal and Grubhub drops its standard delivery and service fees for everyone, no membership needed. Prime members should link Amazon for free Grubhub+ ($0 delivery and lower service fees on eligible $12+ orders, plus 5% back on pickup) instead of paying $9.99 a month. If the same order was cheaper on DoorDash, Uber Eats or Postmates, file a Grubhub Guarantee claim within 48 hours for a perk worth up to $15.

Ways to save at Grubhub
Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.
Bring restaurant orders up to a $50 subtotal
Grubhub doesn't charge its standard delivery and service fees on restaurant and convenience orders with a subtotal of $50 or more, and no membership is needed. The $50 is counted on your items before any offer, so a promo code can still take the price below it, and group orders, split bills and one checkout from several restaurants all count. Taxes, local charges such as bag or retail delivery fees, optional Priority Delivery and tip still apply.[2]
- Fill the bag until the items alone come to $50.
- Add any promo code or Perk afterwards: the $50 is checked before discounts.
- Order on grubhub.com or the Grubhub app, not Seamless, catering or grocery.
Link Amazon Prime for free Grubhub+
Grubhub gives Grubhub+ at no charge to Prime members for as long as Prime stays active and the two accounts are linked, and it never turns into a paid plan. Members get $0 delivery fees and lower service fees on eligible delivery orders of $12 or more from restaurants with the Grubhub+ badge, plus 5% back on pickup. Without Prime, Grubhub's help center prices Grubhub+ at $9.99 a month; on restaurant orders of $50 or more the standard fees are already gone, so the membership earns its keep on smaller orders.[1, 2, 3, 19]
- Open the Grubhub offer page on Amazon and choose Activate Now.
- Link your Grubhub account and agree to share your Prime status.
- Look for the Grubhub+ badge or filter when you order.
Students: join Grubhub+ Student through Campus Dining
Grubhub+ Student is a free membership for students, faculty and staff at colleges affiliated with Grubhub Campus Dining. It brings $0 delivery fees and lower service fees on eligible off-campus delivery orders that reach the subtotal minimum, 5% back on pickup and member offers. Student orders carry their own, higher minimum than standard Grubhub+, and on-campus orders may not qualify.[1, 3, 6, 7]
- Choose your campus in the Campus Dining feature of the Grubhub app.
- Register your campus card with Grubhub so it can check your eligibility.
- Order from off-campus restaurants showing the Grubhub+ badge.
Claim the Grubhub Guarantee when a rival app was cheaper
If the identical order (same restaurant location, items, and delivery or pickup) cost less on DoorDash, Uber Eats or Postmates at checkout, Grubhub gives a perk for the difference, capped at $10, plus an extra $5. The comparison uses food, tax and fees, leaving out promotions and tip. A delivery that arrives after the latest estimated window earns a perk of at least $5 under the on-time promise.[8, 9]
- Keep proof of the lower total on the other app for the same order.
- Submit a claim from the Grubhub app or Help within 48 hours of ordering.
- Watch your email: Grubhub answers within 24 hours and sends the perk there.
Pick up with Grubhub+ to earn 5% back
On eligible pickup orders from restaurants and convenience stores, Grubhub+ members earn 5% of the subtotal back as Grubhub+ Credit, with no minimum order. The credit shows up as a payment option at checkout on later delivery or pickup orders, but it expires 90 days after the most recent credit is issued and can't be used on orders with alcohol. Compare the pickup menu too: Grubhub notes prices can differ between pickup and delivery.[2, 5]
Check the Rewards tab for restaurant Perks
Restaurants run their own Perks on Grubhub, such as a free item, money off a first order, buy-one-get-one or a loyalty program. A restaurant's Perk shows at the top of its menu page, and the Rewards tab lists restaurants offering them. Some apply on their own while others need selecting, a code or qualifying items, and a loyalty reward goes on your next order, not the one that earned it; order signed in, because Grubhub doesn't award rewards retroactively.[11, 12]

Grubhub promo codes
Codes and offers kept by David Jones, who keeps this guide's deals current.
Grubhub's Perks terms say its promotions can't be made available to the general public without its permission, so we don't list Grubhub codes. If Grubhub sent you one, enter it at checkout under Add a promo code while signed in with the email it was sent to.
We don't list Grubhub codes
Grubhub's codes are personal, and its rules don't allow sites like ours to publish them — so this guide sticks to the savings above, which work without one.
6 rules · grubhub.com, United States
The rules that decide what you pay
What Grubhub says about Grubhub+ cancellation, refunds, Grubhub+ through Prime, promo codes, fees and gift cards — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.
Grubhub+ cancellation
Cancel at least 24 hours before the next payment.
Cancel in the app (Account, Grubhub+ membership, Manage Membership) or on grubhub.com; for a renewal on January 1, the terms put the cut-off at 11:59:59 PM ET on December 31. Paid members keep their benefits to the end of the billing period, with no refund or credit for the unused part, while cancelling during a free trial ends the benefits immediately.[4, 13]
Refunds
Charges are final unless Grubhub decides otherwise.
Grubhub's terms make payments non-refundable except at its discretion, with credits or refunds offered case by case, for example after an error with the order or the amount charged. A refund can take up to 5 business days to process, longer at some banks, and may show only as the original pending charge disappearing or shrinking.[14, 15]
Grubhub+ through Prime
Free while Prime is active, and it never converts to a paid plan.
If you already pay for Grubhub+, that plan is cancelled and the Prime version starts the day after your current billing cycle ends. Cancelling or pausing Prime ends the benefit; to drop it yourself, unlink the accounts under Manage apps & data services in your Amazon account, or ask Grubhub support. Each Amazon account can claim Grubhub+ for one Grubhub account.[3, 4]
Promo codes
Codes come off the subtotal, not tax, tip or fees.
Under Grubhub's Perks terms, a promotion applies to the food subtotal unless it is a fee offer such as free delivery; promotions are typically single-use and some can't be combined with other discounts. A code must be used with the email it was issued to, before it expires, on an order that meets any subtotal minimum, and never on a past order.[10, 11]
Fees
Delivery and service fees, plus local charges on some orders.
Grubhub+ removes the delivery fee on eligible $12+ orders and lowers the service fee by an amount that depends on the order value and other factors; its terms say charges such as small-order and driver-benefits fees aren't discounted by the membership. Restaurant orders of $50 or more lose the standard delivery and service fees, yet taxes, retail delivery fees in states such as Colorado and Minnesota, bag, cup and bottle fees, optional Priority Delivery (discounted for members, refunded if late) and tip can still apply.[1, 2, 4, 20]
Gift cards
No cancelling once sent, except future-dated digital cards.
A digital gift card scheduled for a later date can be cancelled through gift card support before it's delivered; one sent today, or a physical card, can't. Each card holds up to $1,000, gift cards can't buy other gift cards, and you still need a Grubhub account and a credit card at checkout even when the gift card covers the whole order.[15, 17, 18]
5 catches in the fine print
Watch out for
Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.
Editing an order can bring the fees back
If you remove items before the order is prepared and the subtotal falls under $50, Grubhub may charge its standard fees. Adding a second order to one already placed doesn't combine them toward $50, and the benefit isn't offered on Seamless.[2]
Menu prices can differ from the restaurant's own
Most merchants set their own prices on Grubhub, and Grubhub says they may be lower in store and can vary between pickup and delivery. Its terms add that the prices shown may not be the lowest the items sell for.[2, 15]
Grubhub+ Credit runs out after 90 days
Pickup credit expires 90 days after the most recent Grubhub+ Credit is issued, can't go toward orders containing alcohol, and can't be earned or spent on on-campus dining orders.[4, 5]
One trial per household, and promo prices don't renew
Grubhub allows one promotional Grubhub+ offer per account and per household, and a membership that has been terminated loses access to later free trials. A membership bought with a promo code or discount renews at the full price.[4]
Guarantee perks are short-lived
A Grubhub Guarantee perk expires 30 days after it's issued, works once, can't be stacked with another perk and needs an order subtotal at least equal to its value. Pickup orders aren't covered by the on-time promise, and group, campus dining and Seamless orders are excluded from the program.[8, 9]
