DoorDash Promo Codes, DashPass & Fee Savings
On DoorDash the savings are in the fees: DashPass removes the delivery fee and cuts the service fee on orders over a store's minimum, some Chase cards include it free, students pay about half, and pickup has no service fee.
Does DoorDash have promo codes?
Yes, but DoorDash's terms say its promotions can be limited to the customers they're offered to and may not be shared with the public unless DoorDash allows it. Unless an offer says otherwise, a code works once per person and comes off the subtotal only, not fees, tax or tip. You enter it at checkout under Promo codes, rewards & gift cards.[2, 12, 13]

- Top way to save: Get DashPass if you order delivery regularly
Our verdict
If you order delivery regularly, DashPass at $9.99 a month or $96 a year gives a $0 delivery fee and a lower service fee on eligible orders that reach the store's minimum — $12 at restaurants, $25 for grocery. Before paying for it, check whether your Chase Sapphire card already includes it, and if you're a student, take the $4.99-a-month student plan. To cancel an order, do it before the store confirms it and a Dasher is assigned — that's when DoorDash's refund table shows a full refund.

Ways to save at DoorDash
Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.
Get DashPass if you order delivery regularly
DashPass costs $9.99 a month or $96 a year plus tax, and gives a $0 delivery fee and a reduced service fee on eligible orders from DashPass stores once the subtotal reaches the store's minimum — $12 for restaurants and convenience stores, $25 for grocery. Twelve monthly payments come to $119.88, so the annual plan costs $23.88 less if you keep it all year. In California, Chicago, Colorado, DC, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York City, Puerto Rico and Seattle, DoorDash puts the service fee at 15% of the subtotal for most orders and 5% for most eligible DashPass restaurant orders.[1, 2, 3, 5]
- Look for the DashPass icon under the store's name.
- Add items until the subtotal reaches the minimum — checkout shows how much more you need.
- Choose the annual plan if you expect to keep DashPass for a year.
Check whether your Chase card includes DashPass
Chase Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred cardmembers get complimentary DashPass through December 31, 2029 if they activate by the end of 2028 (a year from activation in 2029), while Freedom and Slate get 6 months, after which it renews at $9.99 a month. From October 1, 2026, Sapphire Reserve also brings a $15 monthly promo and two $10 monthly promos for non-restaurant orders; Sapphire Preferred brings one $10 non-restaurant promo a month. If you already pay for DashPass, activating the Chase benefit replaces that membership and the charges stop.[6]
- Add the Chase card in DoorDash's own wallet — Apple Pay and Google Pay don't count.
- Activate the DashPass offer that appears for your card.
- Pay with that card, so the benefits and promos apply.
Students: take Student DashPass for about half the price
Student DashPass costs $4.99 a month or $48 a year instead of $9.99 or $96, with the same $0 delivery fee and reduced service fees on eligible orders. You verify through SheerID with your name, school, date of birth and email, and each student can hold the plan on one DoorDash account only. Already on regular DashPass? Cancel before your next payment date and sign up for the student plan once the current cycle ends. The free student year DoorDash offered from August 17 to October 12, 2026 has closed.[3, 4]
- Go to doordash.com/dashpass/student or pick the DashPass Student Plan in the app.
- Verify your student status through SheerID.
- Choose the monthly or annual student plan.
Start with a free trial if you've never had DashPass
DoorDash offers free DashPass trials only to customers who have never had DashPass, free or paid, and only one per household. Cancel before the trial ends and you aren't charged, but your benefits stop straight away; let it run and you're billed $9.99 a month or $96 a year. If the first charge catches you out, the terms let you cancel within 48 hours of your first paid period for a full refund of the DashPass fee.[1, 2]
Pick up the order yourself
DoorDash's fee page says pickup orders have no service fee, and describes Pickup on DoorDash and Caviar as zero-fee ordering. If you're using a promotion, check which kind it is: DoorDash's terms say pickup discounts work only on pickup orders, and delivery-fee discounts only on delivery.[5, 12]
Share DashPass with one other person
Most standard monthly and annual DashPass plans let you invite one other person to share your benefits for free; they keep their own account, payment method and order history, and are never charged for the membership. Student, partnership (such as Chase) and corporate plans can't share, the person you invite can't have an active DashPass of their own, and you can swap who you share with once per calendar year.[7, 8]
- In the DoorDash app, open the Me tab and tap Family.
- Invite one person and wait for them to accept.
- They'll see DashPass benefits on their own account.

DoorDash promo codes
Codes and offers kept by David Jones, who keeps this guide's deals current.
DoorDash's terms say its promotions can be limited to the customers they're offered to and may not be made public without its permission, so we don't list DoorDash codes. A code you've been sent goes in at checkout under Promo codes, rewards & gift cards; the savings above work without one.
We don't list DoorDash codes
DoorDash's codes are personal, and its rules don't allow sites like ours to publish them — so this guide sticks to the savings above, which work without one.

The rules that decide what you pay
What DoorDash says about order cancellation, refunds and credits, problems with an order, DashPass cancellation, fees and promo codes — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.
Order cancellation
A full refund only before the store confirms and a Dasher is assigned.
You can cancel from the order's Help menu until it's delivered. For orders that aren't late, DoorDash's table gives a full refund when neither has happened, a partial refund when one of them has, and no refund once the store has confirmed and a Dasher is assigned. Refunds and credits are at DoorDash's discretion.[9]
Refunds and credits
Credits are instant; card refunds can take up to 10 business days.
Credits go to the account you ordered from and apply automatically to your next order. On a card, a pending charge can take up to 3 business days to drop off, and a charge that has already posted comes back in 3–10 business days, depending on your bank. If the store or DoorDash cancels your order, you get a full credit or refund.[10, 16]
Problems with an order
Report missing or wrong items from the order's Help screen.
Self-help can offer a credit, a refund or redelivery of the items when available, and clear photos of what arrived, plus the receipt, help the review. Under DoorDash's terms, charges for delivered or store-confirmed orders are otherwise final, and any refund or credit is at its discretion.[2, 15]
DashPass cancellation
Cancel at least a day before renewal; benefits last to the end of the period.
Cancel under Manage DashPass in the app or on doordash.com — the terms set the cut-off at least one day before the renewal date. The fee isn't refunded, except within 48 hours of your first paid period after a free trial, and cancelling during a free period ends your benefits immediately. You can pause the membership instead of cancelling.[2, 11]
Fees
Several fees can come on top of menu prices.
An order can carry a service fee, a delivery fee, a small-order fee below a certain subtotal, a long-distance fee, a regulatory response fee, a weather impact fee and an optional Express fee, plus tax and an optional tip. DashPass removes the delivery fee and lowers the service fee on eligible orders; in areas on the fee structure DoorDash began rolling out in late July 2026, it also waives the long-distance fee on eligible restaurant orders over a subtotal minimum.[5]
Promo codes
One per person, taken off the subtotal only.
Unless an offer says otherwise, a DoorDash promo code works once per person, can't be combined with other offers, and doesn't reduce fees, tax or tip; value left unused on an order is lost. A code with no end date expires 30 days after the email it came in was sent, or 30 days after it was last shown to you. New-customer offers are refused if your name, email, phone or card is linked to an earlier DoorDash order or account.[12]
5 catches in the fine print
Watch out for
Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.
No savings below the minimum
DashPass benefits apply only at DashPass stores and only once the subtotal reaches that store's minimum; below it you pay the normal fees. On eligible orders a reduced service fee, taxes and tip still apply.[1, 4]
A cancelled free trial ends at once
Cancelling during a free DashPass period stops the benefits immediately, not at the end of the trial. You get one trial per household, and only if you've never had DashPass.[2, 11]
Some credits expire after six months
Promotional credits, referral credits and some customer-support credits are valid for six months from the day they're issued. Credits from DoorDash gift cards don't expire, but you lose them if your account is deactivated or deleted.[2, 12]
Chase benefits need the Chase card at checkout
The card-linked DashPass and promos only apply when the eligible Chase card is the payment method; Apple Pay and Google Pay don't qualify, and paying another way means the full delivery fee at a DashPass restaurant. Chase promos left unused in a month or quarter don't carry over.[6]
Buy gift cards only from DoorDash or authorized sellers
DoorDash won't honor gift cards bought from unauthorized resellers or auction sites, and lost or stolen cards aren't replaced. You also can't pay for a gift card with credits or promo codes.[14]
