1. Return shipping isn't free

   Crutchfield's UPS return label costs a flat $13 per package, and freight returns cost more — $125 to $175 for TVs from 46 inches up, by its own examples. Factor that in before ordering something you may send back.^[2]

2. Not like new can mean a restocking fee

   Crutchfield may refuse a return or charge a restocking fee when an item isn't like new: a different serial number, missing parts or packing material, damage from poor packing, heavy use (it cites a camera whose shutter counter shows more than 300 pictures) or drop and spill damage. Keep the boxes; freight items need their packaging for a return.^{[1, 2]}

3. Returning a bundle undoes the deal

   Crutchfield's bundle offers say that returning the qualifying purchase voids the offer: the refund is cut by the discount you got, or the promotional items have to come back as well.^[5]

4. Deferred interest on the Synchrony HOME card

   If the promo balance isn't paid in full within 6 months, interest is charged from the purchase date, and minimum payments may not clear it in time. Crutchfield's terms list a 34.99% purchase APR for accounts opened since July 16, 2024.^[18]

5. The $50 free-shipping line counts after discounts

   Crutchfield measures the merchandise total after special discounts and before tax. Its shipping page says both "$50 and up" and "over $50", so a cart that lands exactly on $50 is a borderline case.^[1]
