Alaska Airlines Discount Codes & Promo Codes

Alaska Airlines takes discount codes in its flight search, and its own rules add other savings: a full refund within 24 hours, no change fee on Main, a free first bag and a $99 Companion Fare for Atmos Rewards Visa holders, and points that never expire.

Does Alaska Airlines have promo codes?

Yes — Alaska calls them discount codes, and they go in the discount box where you enter your cities and dates; Alaska hands them out through Atmos Rewards mailings, email, social media, ads and partners. Its deals page listed fares but no public code on October 17, 2026, and the public offer that day was $25 off for new Atmos Rewards members who join through Alaska's offer page by December 31, 2026 (not open to residents of Alaska, California or Hawaii).[7, 11, 20]

Our verdict

Pay for Main rather than Saver unless your dates are fixed: Main has no change fee, while a Saver ticket cancelled after the first day returns a 50% credit — and only if you cancel at least 14 days before the first flight. Any ticket for a trip starting more than a day after purchase is fully refundable for its first 24 hours, so book and then keep comparing. Regular Alaska flyers who pay with an Atmos Rewards Visa check the first bag free for themselves and up to 6 guests, and Ascent and Business cardholders can earn a yearly $99 Companion Fare (plus taxes and fees from $23).

Ways to save at Alaska Airlines

Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.

  1. Book early, then use the 24-hour window to keep comparing

Full refund if you cancel within 24 hoursLow effortAnyone buying more than a day before the trip

Alaska refunds the whole ticket if you cancel within 24 hours of buying it, Saver fares included, as long as the trip starts more than 24 hours after purchase. In that window you can also change the flights once without a change fee, paying only any increase in fare. The money goes back to your original payment and can take up to seven business days to arrive.[1]

    1. Buy the ticket more than a day before the first flight.
    2. Watch the same flights for a lower fare over the next 24 hours.
    3. If the price drops, cancel on the manage reservation page and book again.
  2. Pick Main over Saver if your plans could change

No change fee instead of a 50% creditLow effortTravelers whose dates aren't fixed

Main and First Class fares carry no change fees — you pay only any difference in fare — and cancelling before departure leaves the ticket's value as a credit certificate, valid for 12 months from the original ticket's issue date or 30 days from the cancellation, whichever is later. A Saver fare can't be changed outside the 24-hour policy and paid same-day confirmed changes, and cancelling it returns 50% of its value as credit only when you cancel at least 14 days before the first flight. Saver tickets booked on or after June 11, 2026 for flights from August 1, 2026 also earn no Atmos Rewards points.[2, 3, 9, 13]

  3. Join Atmos Rewards before you book

$25 off (join by Dec 31, 2026), free Wi-FiLow effortEveryone; the $25 offer excludes AK, CA and HI residents

Membership is free, and new members who enroll through Alaska's Join Atmos Rewards offer page by December 31, 2026 get a $25 discount code in their account within 72 hours; the ticket has to be bought on alaskaair.com within 28 days of joining, for travel within 120 days, and residents of Alaska, California and Hawaii can't use the offer. Members also get free Starlink Wi-Fi on equipped flights, can check a case of wine free from 34 airports in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California under Wine Flies Free, and keep points that don't expire — award flights start at 4,500 points.[7, 8, 10, 16, 17]

    1. Open the Join Atmos Rewards offer page on alaskaair.com and enroll.
    2. Look for the $25 code in your new account within 72 hours.
    3. Book on alaskaair.com within 28 days with your member number on the trip.
  4. Pay with an Atmos Rewards Visa for free bags and a Companion Fare

Free first bag for up to 7; $99 companion ticketHigh effortPeople who fly Alaska or Hawaiian several times a year

Holders of the Atmos Rewards Ascent, Business and Summit Visa cards who buy the airfare with the card check one bag free for themselves and up to 6 guests on the same reservation, on flights sold by Alaska or Hawaiian and operated by Alaska, Hawaiian, Horizon or SkyWest — a first bag otherwise costs $45 within North America. Ascent and Business cardholders also get a yearly $99 Companion Fare: a second Saver or Main ticket within North America for $99 plus taxes and fees from $23, booked on alaskaair.com with the card alongside a paid fare on the same itinerary. Alaska's FAQ says holders of the enhanced card introduced in January 2023 need $6,000 in purchases in an anniversary year to receive it.[4, 5, 6]

  5. Type discount codes into the flight search

A dollar amount off a new ticketLow effortAnyone holding a code

Alaska's discount codes take a dollar amount off the fare of a new ticket: type the code into the discount box on the page where you choose cities and dates, or select Use to book next to a code saved in your account. Only one code per reservation works, it can't go on an award booking, and you can still pay the rest with credit certificates or wallet funds. Codes reach people through Atmos Rewards mailings, email, social media, ads and promotional partners — and through the 20-minute baggage guarantee, which offers a $25 code (or bonus points) when bags are slow to reach baggage claim.[11, 12]

Alaska Airlines calls them discount codes: one per booking, typed into the box beside your cities and dates, and only on new paid tickets. We list only offers Alaska publishes on alaskaair.com — on October 17, 2026 that was one deal, $25 off for new Atmos Rewards members, and no public code.

  • $25 off a flight when you join Atmos Rewards

New Atmos Rewards members who sign up through Alaska's offer page get a $25 discount code for a new ticket on Alaska Airlines.

For new members who are U.S. residents outside Alaska, California and Hawaii, enrolling through this page between January 1 and December 31, 2026. The code lands in the new account within 72 hours; buy on alaskaair.com within 28 days of joining, for travel within 120 days. One per person, not combinable with other discounts, not valid to or from Prudhoe Bay (SCC); taxes, fees and bag fees are extra, and cancelling the ticket loses the discount.

The rules that decide what you pay

What Alaska Airlines says about cancellation, refunds for delays and schedule changes, no-show, checked bags, same-day changes and baggage guarantee — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.

Cancellation

Full refund within 24 hours; after that, credit on Main and 50% credit on Saver.

Past the 24-hour window, cancelling a Main or First Class ticket before departure turns its value into a credit certificate, which has to be spent on a new ticket before it expires, though the trip itself can take place later. Saver fares get a 50% credit only when cancelled at least 14 days before the first flight, and nothing after that. Tickets bought from Expedia or another agency are cancelled through that seller.[1, 2, 3, 13]

Refunds for delays and schedule changes

A change of three hours or more lets you take a refund instead of the new flight.

Alaska's Contract of Carriage treats a move of three or more hours in departure or arrival, a different airport, a downgrade or extra connections as a significant change; if you decide not to fly, turn down the rebooking and any voucher, and the affected segments are refunded to your original payment. Its delay commitment adds that after a delay or cancellation of three hours or more you can reschedule for another day or take a refund, with service fees waived.[14, 15]

No-show

Cancel before departure or lose the ticket.

Tell Alaska before the flight leaves and a Main ticket's value goes to your wallet as credit. If you don't, that flight and every continuing and return flight on the reservation are cancelled, and the money or points spent on nonrefundable fares are lost; a Saver traveler who misses a flight forfeits the whole fare.[2, 3, 15]

Checked bags

$45 for the first bag and $55 for the second within North America.

Those prices apply to tickets issued on or after April 10, 2026 (flights wholly within Hawaii: $30 and $40), and a third bag costs $200. Atmos Silver members check one bag free, Gold two and Platinum or Titanium three, with companions on the same reservation included, and passengers confirmed in First Class at check-in get two bags up to 70 lbs. Free-bag benefits don't combine with one another.[4, 5]

Same-day changes

A flat fee on the day of travel, with no fare difference.

During the check-in window you can switch to another flight that day for $75 on Main or First Class and $115 on Saver ($50 and $90 between Seattle and Portland or within one state). No difference in fare is charged, and Atmos Gold, Platinum and Titanium members pay nothing on Main and First Class fares.[2, 4]

Baggage guarantee

Bags slower than 20 minutes earn $25 off or 2,500 points.

If your checked bags aren't at baggage claim within 20 minutes of the plane reaching the gate, ask an agent at the arrival airport within 2 hours for a $25 discount code or 2,500 Atmos Rewards bonus points. It covers flights operated by Alaska, Horizon and SkyWest, except Dutch Harbor flights, international flights that clear customs and items delivered to the oversize claim area.[12]

5 catches in the fine print

Watch out for

Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.

  1. Saver means boarding last and no seat choice

Saver seats are assigned at check-in, Alaska doesn't promise that a group will sit together, and Saver travelers board last, in group F, while overhead bin space goes first come, first served. Buying a Premium Class or First Class seat on a Saver fare doesn't lift the Saver change and cancellation rules.[3]

  2. New Saver tickets earn no points

Saver fares booked on or after June 11, 2026 and flown on or after August 1, 2026 earn no Atmos Rewards points or status points; the miles still count toward Million Miler.[3, 9]

  3. A discount code doesn't survive a change

Codes apply only to the original purchase: change or cancel the ticket and the discount is forfeited, and a code can't be added during an exchange. The $25 code from the join offer (open through December 31, 2026) is lost the same way if the ticket is cancelled.[7, 11]

  4. Booking by phone costs $30

New reservations made through an Alaska call center carry a $30 service charge on tickets booked from July 2, 2026, while booking on alaskaair.com is free; Atmos Gold and Platinum members don't pay it. Award tickets booked by phone carry a nonrefundable $30 per-person charge as well.[4, 10]

  5. The card's free bag has to be set up before check-in

The cardholder bag benefit needs the airfare bought with the card and the Atmos Rewards number on the reservation before check-in; Alaska won't apply it afterwards or refund a bag fee already paid. Tickets bought with the card through a travel agency or wholesale club may not qualify, and flights on oneworld partners are excluded.[5]

Alaska Airlines savings FAQ

Yes — Alaska calls them discount codes, and they go in the discount box where you enter your cities and dates; Alaska hands them out through Atmos Rewards mailings, email, social media, ads and partners. Its deals page listed fares but no public code on October 17, 2026, and the public offer that day was $25 off for new Atmos Rewards members who join through Alaska's offer page by December 31, 2026 (not open to residents of Alaska, California or Hawaii).[7, 11, 20]

Type it into the discount code box on the flight search page, or choose Use to book next to a code stored in your account. One code works per reservation, it can't be used on award tickets, and you can still pay part of the fare with credit certificates or wallet funds.[11]

In some markets: Alaska's military fare is sold only by phone through Reservations, to active-duty personnel on an official excused absence, reservists on active duty, people traveling within 7 days of their discharge, and dependents — not to retirees or temporary-duty travel. For bags, Alaska's military benefits page lists the first two free (five on orders), while its fee table shows up to five free bags of up to 70 lbs for active-duty members with ID even without orders. Service members also get 15% off food bought on board, and can cancel for a refund if military orders stop them from flying.[4, 18, 19]

Yes. If the trip starts more than 24 hours after you bought the ticket, cancelling within 24 hours of purchase gets you a full refund — Saver fares too — paid back to your original payment within up to seven business days. In the same window you can change the flights once without a change fee, paying any increase in fare.[1]

Only through the 24-hour policy. After that, cancelling at least 14 days before the first flight returns 50% of the ticket value as a credit, closer to departure nothing comes back, and missing the flight forfeits the whole fare. If Alaska itself changes or reschedules your flight, it moves you to another flight and waives change and cancellation fees.[1, 3]

Buy the airfare with an Atmos Rewards Ascent, Business or Summit Visa card, and you and up to 6 guests on the reservation each check one bag free. Atmos Silver, Gold and Platinum or Titanium members get one, two or three free bags, and so do companions on the same reservation; passengers confirmed in First Class at check-in get two; otherwise the first bag costs $45 within North America.[4, 5]

Eligible Ascent and Business Visa cardholders can receive a yearly code for one companion ticket in Saver or Main within North America, priced from $122: the $99 fare plus taxes and fees from $23. Both tickets must be on the same itinerary, booked together on alaskaair.com and paid with the card; the code can't be used on awards or with other discounts, has to be redeemed by its expiry date, and travel must be finished within 12 months of the code's issue date.[6]

No — Alaska says Atmos Rewards points don't expire, though status points reset every January 1. From January 1, 2027 members can choose to earn on flights by distance, price paid or segments flown; anyone who doesn't choose keeps earning by distance.[8, 9]

Yes, if the flight is cancelled or significantly changed — moved by three hours or more, switched to another airport, downgraded or given extra connections — and you choose not to fly: decline the rebooking and any voucher, and the unused segments are refunded to your original payment. Alaska's delay commitment also lets you reschedule for another day or take a refund after a delay or cancellation of three hours or more.[14, 15]
