Airbnb Coupon Codes, Discounts & Fee Rules

Airbnb coupon codes are unique and work once, so the savings open to everyone come from how you book: 7- and 28-night stays with host discounts, the cheaper non-refundable rate, new-listing deals, and cancelling while the service fee is still refundable.

Does Airbnb have promo codes or coupon codes?

Airbnb uses coupons, also called promo codes, and describes each one as unique, dated and good for one use. You add a coupon to your account under Payments, then apply it at checkout before you book — one per reservation, and it can't be combined with another coupon, offer or discount.[1, 2]

Our verdict

Quote your dates at 7 or 28+ nights to see whether a host's weekly or monthly discount applies, and if your plans are fixed, look for the non-refundable rate — a host-set discount that Airbnb says is typically 10% off the base price. If you may need to cancel, do it before the free-cancellation period ends: after that, the service fee is refunded only if the host refunds you in full.

Ways to save at Airbnb

Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.

  1. Price your trip at 7 or 28+ nights

The host's weekly or monthly discountLow effortStays of a week or longer

Hosts can set a discount for weekly (7+ nights) and monthly (28+ nights) stays. Every discount is shown next to the original price in the listing's price breakdown, but search results flag only those of 10% or more. On 28+ night stays Airbnb sometimes adds its own monthly stay savings, which it pays for and which can sit on top of a host discount, and its host guide says the guest service fee is reduced for stays over a month and again for stays over three months.[7, 8, 9]

    1. Search with exact dates of 7 or 28+ nights.
    2. For monthly stays, widen the date range by up to 14 days to see more places.
    3. Open the price breakdown to see the discount against the original price.
  2. Take the non-refundable rate when your dates are fixed

Typically 10% off the base priceLow effortStays under 28 nights with firm plans

For stays under 28 nights, hosts can add a cheaper non-refundable option that sits on top of their other discounts; Airbnb's host guide puts it at typically 10% off the base price. It can be booked until 1 day before check-in on Flexible listings, 5 days on Moderate and 14 days on Limited, Firm and Strict, after which only the standard rate is left, and it isn't offered on special offers. Once the 24-hour cancellation period has passed there's no refund unless a Major Disruptive Event hits the reservation.[11, 12, 15]

  3. Look for new-listing, early-bird and last-minute discounts

20% off a new listing's first 3 bookingsLow effortTravelers open to newer places or flexible timing

A host with a new listing can offer 20% off its first 3 bookings, and hosts with at least 3 bookings can run custom promotions on dates they choose. Hosts can also set early-bird discounts for booking further ahead or last-minute discounts that cut the nightly price as check-in nears. Only one of these — or a length-of-stay discount — applies to a reservation, so they don't add up.[10]

  4. Pay for a monthly stay from your US bank account

An extra saving shown at checkoutSome effortUS residents paying in USD for 28+ nights

If your country of residence is the US and your default currency is USD, you can pay by bank account, and on reservations of 28 nights or more Airbnb highlights the saving on the Confirm and pay page and applies it automatically. Pick it when you book: switching to your bank account later, or stretching a short stay into a monthly one after paying another way, doesn't earn the saving. The first month is charged at confirmation and the rest in monthly installments.[13]

    1. At Confirm and pay, choose to pay with your bank account.
    2. Connect it through the Stripe sign-in window.
    3. Check the highlighted saving before you confirm.
  5. Book hotels that show Airbnb's credit badge

15% back as Airbnb creditLow effortHotel stays in select US cities

Since May 20, 2026, eligible hotels in select cities — the US among them — earn 15% of what you pay, excluding fees and taxes, as Airbnb credit, up to $2,000 per reservation. Only hotels carrying the credit badge qualify, and the amount is shown at checkout. The credit arrives by 11:59 p.m. PST the day after checkout, expires a year after it's issued, and is lost if you cancel the hotel booking. Airbnb calls it a limited-time offer.[14]

Airbnb coupon codes

Codes and offers kept by David Jones, who keeps this guide's deals current.

Airbnb describes its coupon codes as unique and single-use, and on Oct 16, 2026 we found none published for everyone on airbnb.com, so we list none. Host discounts don't need a code: they appear in the price once you enter dates.

We don't list Airbnb codes

Airbnb's codes are personal, and its rules don't allow sites like ours to publish them — so this guide sticks to the savings above, which work without one.

The rules that decide what you pay

What Airbnb says about cancellation, refunds, service fee, extended cancellation, AirCover for guests and coupons and credits — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.

Cancellation

The host picks the policy; your check-in date decides which applies.

For stays under 28 nights, Flexible gives a full refund until 24 hours before check-in, Moderate until 5 days, Limited until 14 days (then 50% back from 7 to 14 days) and Firm until 30 days (then 50% from 7 to 30 days); Strict and Super strict are by Airbnb's invitation only. Every standard policy also refunds in full for 24 hours after the booking is confirmed, if it was confirmed at least 7 days before check-in. Stays of 28+ nights follow a separate long-term Firm or Strict policy, and all deadlines run on the listing's local time.[15, 16]

Refunds

Started as soon as you cancel; your bank sets the timing.

Refunds go to the payment method you booked with, even when the payment was split. Airbnb lists 24 hours for PayPal and Airbnb gift credit and up to 15 business days for major credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Bookings paid with a gift card are refunded to your gift card balance, and if the host cancels you get a full refund whatever the policy.[16, 19, 20, 26]

Service fee

Refundable only before the free-cancellation period ends.

On listings with the split-fee structure, guests pay a fee Airbnb puts at 14.1% to 16.5% of the booking subtotal, though it varies by booking; where the host has moved to the single-fee structure, no guest service fee is charged. After the free-cancellation period, the fee comes back only if the host chooses to refund you in full. In the US, search results and listings show a total that already includes fees, before taxes.[3, 4, 5, 6]

Extended cancellation

A paid add-on on select homes: cancel for any reason up to 24 hours before check-in.

It's paid to Airbnb, can only be bought when you book, and its price shows at checkout. Using it refunds 100% of the reservation cost you've paid — but not the extended-cancellation charge itself or extras like insurance. Miss the 24-hour deadline and the host's own policy applies; it isn't insurance and doesn't cover trip delays or medical costs.[17, 18]

AirCover for guests

Rebooking or a refund when a home falls seriously short — not travel insurance.

It comes with every home booking and covers a host who cancels before check-in or doesn't give you access, and a place that's significantly different from the listing, such as fewer bedrooms or a missing pool or kitchen. Contact the host or Airbnb within 72 hours of finding the problem, with photos or video; Airbnb then helps you find a comparable place or gives a full or partial refund, service fees included. Minor issues and travel problems like storm delays aren't covered.[21, 22]

Coupons and credits

One coupon per reservation, applied before you book.

Add a coupon under Account settings, Payments, Coupons, then select it at checkout; it can't be added after booking, combined with another coupon or offer, or extended once it expires. Credits apply automatically at checkout, and several can go on one reservation, but neither can buy an Airbnb gift card. Cancel and the coupon is gone; if the host cancels before check-in, you can use it again.[1, 2, 20, 28]

5 catches in the fine print

Watch out for

Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.

  1. A late cancellation keeps the service fee

Once the free-cancellation period is over, Airbnb refunds the service fee only if your host decides to refund you in full. Check the date on the listing's cancellation policy before you change plans.[6, 16]

  2. Some taxes aren't in the US price you see

Taxes that Airbnb doesn't collect aren't displayed before booking, and Airbnb warns that additional taxes may apply in those places. A few hosts also collect fees outside Airbnb, which must be disclosed in the listing — read it before you pay.[3, 4]

  3. Choosing credit instead of a refund is final

When you cancel you may be offered Airbnb credit instead of money back on your card, and once it's issued the choice can't be reversed. After a host cancellation, Airbnb generally turns your payment into travel credit for quick rebooking — you can ask for a refund to your original payment method instead, and unused credit is refunded after 72 hours.[20, 22]

  4. Moving your check-in can change the policy

Hosts can set different cancellation policies for specific dates, and the one that applies follows your check-in date. A trip change that moves check-in may bring a different policy; changing only the checkout date keeps the one you have.[16]

  5. Illness and cancelled flights don't override the policy

Airbnb's Major Disruptive Events Policy covers large-scale events such as government travel restrictions or unforeseeable natural disasters. It excludes your own illness or injury, flight cancellations, transport strikes and foreseeable weather like hurricanes in Florida in season — those cancellations follow the host's policy.[23]

Airbnb savings FAQ

Airbnb uses coupons, also called promo codes, and describes each one as unique, dated and good for one use. You add a coupon to your account under Payments, then apply it at checkout before you book — one per reservation, and it can't be combined with another coupon, offer or discount.[1, 2]

Not for US students. Airbnb's student discount — 10% off stays for 12 months through UNiDAYS — is open only to students aged 18+ at universities in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Australia.[1, 24]

On listings whose hosts set them: weekly discounts start at 7 nights and monthly ones at 28. On 28+ night stays Airbnb sometimes adds its own monthly stay savings, which can combine with a host discount, and US residents can save extra by paying for a monthly stay from their bank account.[7, 8, 13]

Each host chooses one. For stays under 28 nights the standard options run from Flexible (full refund until 24 hours before check-in) through Moderate (5 days) and Limited (14 days) to Firm (30 days), and if such a booking is confirmed at least 7 days before check-in, it can be cancelled for a full refund within 24 hours. A qualifying Major Disruptive Event can override the host's policy.[15, 23]

Yes, if you cancel before your reservation's free-cancellation period ends, or if the host decides to refund you in full afterwards. Listings where the host pays the whole fee under Airbnb's single-fee structure charge guests no service fee at all.[4, 5, 6]

Airbnb starts the refund as soon as you cancel; how fast it arrives depends on how you paid. It lists 24 hours for PayPal and Airbnb gift credit and up to 15 business days for major credit cards. You can follow it with Track refund in Trips.[19, 20]

Not for guests. Airbnb's Guest Referral Program is open only to residents of Brazil, mainland China, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and South Korea, and Airbnb asks members not to post their links on coupon sites.[25]

No. You can buy them on airbnb.com or in participating US stores, add several to one account and spend the balance across bookings. A gift card purchase can't be refunded, and if a booking paid with gift credit is cancelled, any refund goes back to your gift card balance.[26]

On eligible stays under 28 nights, yes: Pay Part Now, Part Later splits the cost, and Reserve Now, Pay Later charges nothing until a set date before check-in. Check-in has to be at least 14 days away and at least $50 must remain after coupons and credits; a coupon only applies to the first payment.[27]
