1. Join Ulta Beauty Rewards and sign in before you pay

   Membership is free (under-18s need a parent's consent), and you earn 1 point for every $1 you actually pay for qualifying products and salon services — gift cards, taxes and shipping don't count. Online purchases only earn points if you're signed in with your Member ID linked. Spend $500 in a calendar year to become Platinum (1.25 points per $1), or $1,200 for Diamond (1.5 points per $1, plus free shipping on orders of $25 or more, outside Alaska and Hawaii).^{[1, 2]}

   1. Join on ulta.com, in the Ulta Beauty app or at a store.
   2. Link your Member ID to your online account and sign in before checking out.
   3. In store, give your phone number or show the barcode in the app.

2. Plan a haul for your birthday month

   Add your birthday to your profile and opt in to Ulta's marketing before your birthday month starts. During that month you can choose a free birthday gift — deluxe samples and travel sizes, while quantities last — and earn double points on qualifying purchases once you activate the offer. Platinum and Diamond members get an extra $10 off as well.^{[1, 2, 3]}

   1. Save your birthday in your profile before the month begins.
   2. Online: sign in, add a gift from the birthday page to a bag with at least one paid item that isn't from UB Marketplace; shipping rates apply.
   3. In store: show the birthday coupon code from your email or the app — no purchase needed.

3. Check Today's Coupons and the Deals page before you pay

   Ulta lists public coupons on its Today's Coupons page (on October 16, 2026 it showed none) and current sales, buy-more-save-more offers and gifts with purchase on its Deals pages. Only one coupon code works per order on ulta.com, but you can still redeem points in the same order and add your birthday gift. Each gift with purchase has an end date, and some leave out pickup and same-day orders, so read the line under each one.^{[2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9]}

4. Save points for the bigger redemption steps

   Points are worth more in bigger blocks: 100 points take $3 off, 1,000 take $50 off and 2,000 take $125 off — 3 cents a point at the bottom of the scale and 6.25 cents at the top. The catch is time: base members' points expire at the end of the calendar quarter after their first anniversary, while Platinum and Diamond members' points don't expire as long as they keep that status. You can redeem up to 4,000 points per online order and 10,000 in store.^{[1, 2]}

   On eligible products, a subscription takes 5% off every subscription order and ships it free, and you can skip, pause or cancel without a fee. Some brands give a bigger discount on the first subscription order. Promo codes can't be used on the first subscription order, points can be redeemed only on that first order, and the service needs a free Rewards account and a contiguous-US address.^[10]

6. If you open the Ulta credit card, make the first order count

   New Ulta Beauty Rewards Credit Card holders get 20% off their first purchase, applied after all other coupons and discounts, and earn 2 points per $1 at Ulta at the base member level. Cardholders also get free standard shipping on online orders paid entirely with the card through November 14, 2026 — Apple Pay, PayPal, Afterpay, Venmo and Klarna don't count. The card is subject to credit approval, and the first-purchase discount may be limited by a temporary credit limit.^{[1, 4]}

   1. Read the card's rate and fee information before applying.
   2. If you apply online, stay opted in to Ulta emails — that's how the 20% coupon arrives.
   3. The 20% works one time only, so use it on a planned basket rather than a small top-up.

Ulta posts its public coupons on its own Today's Coupons page, and members also get personal offers by email and in the app. We list only the public ones, with their end dates; only one code works per order on ulta.com.

1. Points expire unless you're Platinum or Diamond

   Base members' points run out at the end of the calendar quarter after their first anniversary — points earned on November 1, 2025 expire on December 31, 2026. Platinum and Diamond members' points don't expire while they keep that status.^{[1, 2]}

2. Coupons skip all fragrance and many big names

   Ulta's excluded-brands list covers every fragrance brand plus names such as CHANEL, Clinique, Dyson, Estée Lauder, FENTY BEAUTY, MAC, NARS, OLAPLEX and Tarte. Check it before you plan a purchase around a code.^[6]

3. You can't return and rebuy to use a coupon

   Coupons, special offers and points don't apply to past purchases, and Ulta's policy bars returning items in order to buy them again with a coupon or points. Single-use coupons used on a returned order aren't given back.^[5]

4. Points have checkout limits

   Online you can redeem up to 4,000 points per order, and not on UB Marketplace products, shipping, gift cards, or online orders paid with Afterpay or Klarna. Points earned in a purchase can't be spent in that same purchase.^[1]

5. Store, app and website prices can differ

   Ulta's terms say prices on ulta.com may differ from those in its stores and app, and its Deals page marks some offers as app-only or online-only. Compare before you buy, especially on bigger purchases.^{[8, 15]}
