IKEA Coupons & Promo Codes: How to Pay Less

IKEA doesn't publish promo codes: its savings run through the free IKEA Family membership — member prices, cheaper delivery, free store pickup and a 90-day price adjustment. Add points, the As-is section and Buyback.

Does IKEA have promo codes?

Not public ones. IKEA says it issues coupons only by email — such as the birthday coupon and IKEA Family reward vouchers — and doesn't accept promotions from other sites; one coupon works per transaction. Its public savings are IKEA Family prices and events, like the Dream Kitchen Event through Oct 27, 2026.[3, 10, 17, 18, 19]

Our verdict

Sign up for IKEA Family at no cost and log in at checkout: membership brings IKEA Family prices, large-item delivery from $19 instead of $29 and free Click & Collect, where others pay $2. Keep your receipt, because if the price drops while the lower price is still running, IKEA refunds the difference for 90 days as a member, 14 days otherwise. Skip the code hunt: IKEA says it sends coupons only by email and doesn't accept codes from other sites.

Ways to save at IKEA

Ordered by what each is typically worth to a regular shopper — the biggest saving first.

  1. Join IKEA Family and sign in before you pay

Member prices and cheaper deliveryLow effortUS residents 18 or older with an email address

IKEA Family is IKEA's free loyalty program. Members pay the IKEA Family price on labeled items — in October 2026, 15% off BESTÅ storage and 20% off select table lamps through Nov 11 — and each large-item delivery option starts $10 lower for them, plus $5 off qualifying small-parcel orders over $35. New members who opt in to marketing emails and confirm their address also get a QR coupon for their first purchase in a participating US store (IKEA advertises it as from $20 off), valid for 90 days and not online.[1, 2, 3, 8, 16]

    1. Sign up free on ikea.com — you need to be 18 or older with a valid email address.
    2. Sign in to your IKEA Family account before checking out online, so your member number is added to the order.
    3. In store, scan your IKEA Family card or digital card at checkout every time you buy.
  2. Claim the difference if IKEA lowers the price

The price difference, up to 90 days laterLow effortMembers (90 days) and everyone else (14 days)

If something you bought goes on sale or is reduced, IKEA adjusts the price: within 90 days if your IKEA Family number was used on the purchase, or 14 days for anyone else. You need the receipt or order number, and the new price has to be running when you ask — a sale that has ended doesn't count, and events such as kitchen or bathroom events can add their own conditions. Services aren't covered.[2, 4, 5]

    1. Keep the receipt or order number for everything you buy.
    2. Check the product page for a lower price during your window.
    3. Bring the receipt to a store for in-store purchases; for online orders, chat with IKEA or call 1-888-888-4532.
  3. Collect at an IKEA store instead of paying for delivery

Free pickup for members ($2 otherwise)Some effortShoppers within reach of an IKEA store

Click & Collect is free for IKEA Family members and $2 for everyone else, and orders picked up at an IKEA-branded store don't need the $35 minimum that shipping, delivery and third-party pickup points require. Wait for the email saying your order is ready, then collect it within 24 hours — unclaimed orders are restocked and refunded.[1, 9, 10]

  4. Turn your points into IKEA Family vouchers

$5 off for every 175 pointsLow effortMembers who shop or visit regularly

Members earn 1 point per $1 spent before tax (not on gift cards, fees or shipping), plus 25 points a week for logging in and 50 for attending a planning appointment or member event. Points become vouchers: 175 points for $5 off a $5+ product purchase, 350 for $10, 700 for $20 and 1,750 for $50 — or the same totals for that much off delivery, or 1,750 for $50 off Taskrabbit assembly. Vouchers expire 30 days after they're issued and can't be combined with other IKEA offers or coupons.[3]

  5. Shop the As-is section and sell old IKEA furniture back

Reduced prices; store credit for used piecesSome effortIKEA Family members near a participating store

IKEA's As-is areas sell discontinued items, ex-display pieces and gently used furniture at reduced prices; members can browse their store's As-is stock online and reserve an item for 48 hours, and IKEA Family discounts still apply. In the other direction, Buyback & Resell pays members in store credit that doesn't expire for fully assembled, working IKEA furniture at participating stores — not sofas, beds or mattresses. Get a quote online first; the final offer is set after an in-store check.[12, 13]

  6. Weigh the IKEA Visa if you pay in full each month

5% back in IKEA rewardsHigh effortApproved applicants who don't carry a balance

The IKEA Visa, issued by Comenity Capital Bank and subject to credit approval, earns 5% back in rewards on IKEA purchases (including IKEA installation and Taskrabbit assembly), 3% on dining, grocery and utilities and 1% elsewhere, with no annual fee. Opening it and using it the same day takes $25 off a first IKEA purchase of $25 or more, and rewards are issued in $15 increments. New accounts carry a 21.99% purchase APR, so interest on a balance you carry can outweigh the rewards.[14]

6 rules · ikea.com, United States

The rules that decide what you pay

What IKEA says about delivery, returns, mattresses, price adjustment, coupons and order changes — the details that turn a good deal into a bad one, or the other way round.

Delivery

No free shipping, and a $35 minimum for any delivery.

Shipping, delivery and third-party pickup points need $35 of merchandise after discounts — gift cards, tax and service fees don't count. Prices depend on your zip code, the order's weight and the option you pick, and large items go only to addresses in the continental US — never to PO boxes or APO addresses. A large-item delivery scheduled more than 14 days after purchase can add a storage fee of up to $10 a day.[8, 9, 10]

Returns

365 days unopened, 180 days opened, with receipt and photo ID.

Refunds go back to the original payment method, for the net price shown on the receipt. Store returns are free, but you pay return shipping unless the item arrived damaged or incomplete, and shipping fees aren't refunded. Plants, cut fabric, custom countertops and As-is products can't be returned, nor can anything modified, dirty, stained or damaged.[6, 9]

Mattresses

Exchange once within 90 days — no refunds.

IKEA's delivery terms say mattresses can't be returned, but a new mattress can be swapped for another once within 90 days if it isn't dirty, marked or damaged. A pricier replacement costs the difference; a cheaper one leaves the difference on an IKEA refund card. If the original came by home delivery, collection and delivery of the replacement are free; bed bases, slats and toppers aren't included.[7, 9]

Price adjustment

Only for a current lower price, within 90 or 14 days.

Members get 90 days if their IKEA Family number was on the original purchase — online, that means being signed in when you ordered. Everyone else gets 14 days. In-store purchases are adjusted in a store; for online orders, contact customer service.[2, 4, 5]

Coupons

One coupon per transaction, and only IKEA's own.

IKEA says it issues coupons only by email and won't accept promotions found on other sites, online or in store. Expired coupons can't be extended, and the current member offers can't be combined with other IKEA offers or coupons.[10, 16, 18]

Order changes

Cancel before it ships to get everything back.

Online orders can be cancelled before shipment from the Track & Manage My Order page. After an order ships, IKEA refunds the products but not the shipping fee. Items can't be added once payment is collected, and a delivery address can't be changed — the order has to be cancelled and placed again.[9, 10]

5 catches in the fine print

Watch out for

Where shoppers lose the saving they thought they had.

  1. Shipping fees don't come back

IKEA refunds the products when you return them or cancel an order that has shipped, but not what you paid for shipping. Store returns are free; sending items back is at your cost unless they arrived damaged or incomplete.[9]

  2. Opened items get 180 days, not 365

The 365-day window is for new, unopened products. Once opened, you have 180 days — and nothing modified, dirty, stained or damaged is accepted.[6]

  3. As-is and Resell items are final sale

Everything bought from the As-is department, including items reserved through As-is online and resold Buyback furniture, is excluded from the return policy.[12, 13]

  4. Rewards expire and don't come back

Reward vouchers expire 30 days after they're issued and points 18 months after you earn them. Return something bought with a reward and the reward is lost; points can't be claimed afterwards if you didn't identify as a member at the time.[3]

  5. Codes from coupon sites won't work

IKEA says it issues coupons only by email and that promotions found on non-IKEA sites aren't valid online or in store. The public savings are the IKEA Family prices and dated offers on ikea.com.[15, 18]

IKEA savings FAQ

Not public ones. IKEA says it issues coupons only by email — such as the birthday coupon and IKEA Family reward vouchers — and doesn't accept promotions from other sites; one coupon works per transaction. Its public savings are IKEA Family prices and events, like the Dream Kitchen Event through Oct 27, 2026.[3, 10, 17, 18, 19]

No — IKEA's FAQ says it doesn't, and delivery needs a $35 minimum. IKEA Family members pay less for delivery and get free Click & Collect at IKEA stores, where non-members pay $2.[1, 10]

It depends on your zip code, order weight and the option you pick, so your cart shows the exact price. In most states, Standard delivery starts at $19 for IKEA Family members ($29 for others) and Scheduled In-Home delivery at $59 ($69); Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island start higher.[8]

New, unopened products can be returned within 365 days and opened ones within 180 days, with proof of purchase and a government photo ID, for a refund to your original payment method. Mattresses can only be exchanged, once within 90 days, and plants, cut fabric, custom countertops and As-is items can't be returned.[6, 7, 9]

Yes, as a price adjustment: if something you bought goes on sale, IKEA refunds the difference within 90 days for IKEA Family members whose number was on the purchase, or 14 days for everyone else. The lower price must still be current, and you need the receipt or order number.[4, 5]

Not right now — IKEA's student discount page says the student discount is over. Students can still join IKEA Family for free and use its member prices.[1, 20]

Some stores run their own. IKEA Centennial in Colorado, for example, gives IKEA Family members who are active military, veterans or their families 10% off in store with a valid military ID. We didn't find a nationwide military discount on IKEA's US help pages, so check your local store's page.[21]

IKEA Family members get a birthday coupon by email, valid only during their birthday month. To receive it, you need to have been a member, with email communications switched on, at least 30 days before your birthday month.[19]

Assembly is done by Taskrabbit at a flat rate per item, starting at $52, and you pay up front when you book it through IKEA. You can cancel or reschedule free with at least 24 hours' notice; later than that, the $52 minimum may be charged.[11]
